What reasons are cited when they fight you on this? This should have been scripted years ago.

Can I buy you a beer, or case,.. or....

There is such a push for 'security' over anything else that it's Not allowed to the point of when onboarding someone, things are missed (or worse; added and not needed) so you have to retouch an account more than once.

I've mentioned it since day one, made suggestions, and even found one that would cover most anything needed... It would only need to be adjusted to this environment...

It's always 'blocked' or ignored or what ever. Powershell Remote execution - even if signed - is turned off. To perform a task needed by a process we are starting (MS AutoPilot) PS is needed - by design.... So, I have to run it - one damn line at a time,.. and circumvent policies and such just to do the tasks needed. It's so seriously ridiculous to need and be told to perform a task - and can't because of the aire of security.....

Find somewhere where you want to work. Life is too short to put up with places like that.

And then the attachment is saved where you want.

Except, you have no way to save to a users ODfB space.

It is easy to do this to non user locations or a user home folder on a server, but not the user's ODfB.

I am sure it can be done with all kinds of delegation or something setup. But in @Dashrender's case, I would assume some of the stuff is PHI that potentially shouldn't be able to be accessed by an account like that.

Yeah - I'm guessing that each person would need to create their own PA for this to work without having to worry about delegations, etc.

That exactly what the example I linked to showed. It standard stuff. No problem putting files in each users onedrive.

I think you use templates or something to do it for many users in Power Automate. As I said we use Zoho Flow but they all work the same. It's just scripting without having to code.

Have you gave any recommendations on how to use powershell in a secure way? You could ask for a bastion host to that's only purpose is to send out PS scripts and block internet access on it.

Since I'm the new guy.. they don't hear but so well.. maybe in time. And I do bring it up from time to time..

I think sometimes they listen to new guys more. You bring experience from other places

yeah, assuming the new guy is a consultant 😉 since they are paying them huge money, why pay them if not going to listen.. but so often it seems to be the case to ignore internal resources because you just earn a salary.. it's so ridiculous!

We have a number of the mono and duo Savi 8210 / 8220 headsets. I need to swap a nonworking headset with one that is working, but am not finding information on how to do that. I can find how to pair to a mobile device or computer via Bluetooth, but not to a replacement base.

You can't just move the base?

That is the obvious (and easy) answer. But I was 'told' by another it was possible. I'm not seeing that it is,... but I want to ensure that my Google Search is not overlooking something.

I'll likely just walk a the matching base over and be done...

The mono headset doesn't seem to work (with the paired based), Not sure if it's a headset or base issue... Desk needs a Mono, but all we have right now is a Duo - Meh - Again.. Just making sure that in my searching I didn't over look it.

I believe a warranted alteration would be for Add/Remove Permissions to user. Seeing that some staff here have change in duties, the needed security changes could easily be handled by this as well.

As a pratical way you would have centralized printing on a CLoud Service but with Windows Servers then you will have to manually match and correct or somehow script it.

@dustinb3403 What do you mean disabling autodiscover for a user? Are you talking about a registry key?

No, within O365 you can either selectively disable authentication protocols because you're a glutton for punishment or you can do so with conditional access policies or Security Defaults.

Well you can disable Autodiscover as a whole organization through the modern authentication setting, however in order to have conditional access you have to have higher licensing than normal which is why I am confused at the disabling comment.

Just a P2 license to setup a conditional access license for the administrator account(s). The user accounts don't require this level of licensing.

Why is it a confusing question?

@DustinB3403 I'd love to hear your thoughts so you downvoted my post. I have no problem debating you and anytime I downvote you it is because I don't agree with you. You also know that I upvote you as well even if we aren't best buds 💔

Any vote of yours that I've downvoted is because what you said is wrong or at a minimum disagree. You've been downvoting people out of spite, unless you have a really good argument to what I've posted then I recant the above statement and welcome your debate.

Also everyone that's downvoted you except maybe @stacksofplates has downvoted me before when they disagreed with stuff I've said. @JaredBusch @Obsolesce , @travisdh1 but they've had a reason or an argument to why they've disagreed with me. That's how it's supposed to work.

Creating a Static / Dynamic Stamp isn't overly difficult. But I seem to being having trouble with the script needed to prompt for data entry to complete it. I found / followed a decent YT video on the matter and after creating a basic Static Stamp, started working on the Dynamic Stamp.

      Create Dynamic Stamp

After some initial issues with the script, I found that I had missed one symbol; that corrected Adobe was happy and moved forward. And over all, the process works as expected. Only when prompted for entry nothing is placed into the stamp and the other field are not prompted for.

      if ((event.source.forReal)&&(event.source.stampName =="#PatientTest")) { this.getField("Patient Name").value = app.response("Patient Name:"); this.getField("Date of Birth").value = app.response("Patient DOB:"); this.getField("Patient ID").value = app.response("Patient ID:"); }

Despite the fact that it isn't working - I'm pretty satisfied with the result thus far. Back to searching why it isn't (seemingly) working.

      OP Edited also.

I would make a group for the users that need to access this folder (even if it's a group with only one user).

User also needs to map two drives (unc\path1 and unc\path2) that are on a server. The folder %programdata%\liberty software is not and does not need to be shared or mapped.

User logs into the server (via RDP?), needs two drives mapped to some other locations that's not %PROGRAMDATA%\liberty software, and needs write access to %PROGRAMDATA%\liberty software on the server, correct?

No RDP in this case. Locally installed application.
Yes - agree that a GPO using a security group would be better -

A client of mine is getting out of a situation like that with Cox.

Cox charged like $80/m originally per phone for 4 phones - they installed the cable, the switch, the UPS, then 5 years ago lowed the price to $50/m/each.

Now they are moving to FreePBX, paying their own hosting fees, and bought the phones outright. Monthly bill fell by approx 75%
