I've used both MEmu and Bluestacks. MEmu was a bit faster and was less pushy about advertising. Bluestacks is more widely recognized and supported though. I didn't play much with keymaps and other features when I was using MEmu more heavily, but Bluestacks seems to have more of that.

$250 seems pretty cheap for such a use... you expect what - 5 years out of it, so $50/year... seems reasonable.

It is. But taking 5 minutes to post a discussion was well worth it. I’ll buy an Acer also and see how it works comparatively.

Actually, depending on the possible cost savings, maybe not. If you buy two and compare them, that billable time could eat much of that savings. - Could, no idea if it will or not. Though I'll agree the post just for info sake was likely worthwhile.

$250 vs $150 is significant. I'm not talking single quantity.

My thoughts would be if the government have been asking Huawei to but spying/data harvesting stuff in gear wouldn't they be asking all manufacturers?

If they go after "all" it would over expose the falseness of the whole thing.

@DustinB3403 said in Office365 on Android - Certificate Error:

While an MDM can limit what apps are allowed (or not allowed) the most simple usage is to tag company owned data.

This way if someone leaves the company with their personal cellphone, the MDM policy can wipe out anything tagged as company property.

@JaredBusch thanks for clarifying the point, that this policy is under the security settings. The app is moot to the policy being there or not if one exists at all.

To clarify further, there were no MDM policies set under Device Admin outside of what O365 already applies. I did remove that but that caused it to log out of the account/remove it and when I reconnected things, the problem went away as I anticipated. Still was curious as to why it was happening though. My best guess is what I previously mentioned about him connecting to an open hotspot and it causing the issue.

There has never been a promise or timeline made for the mobile apps. Anyone expecting anything on that front is operating in their own little fantasy.

That's the main use case of softphones, though. Like 95% I would guess. Softphones for the desktop are way more niche.

I totally disagree. Softphone on the desktop is by far the largest user base thanks to call centers.

Softphone on mobile is a far second to that.

Maybe overall, but for FreePBX? FreePBX is pretty rare in call centers, AFAIK.

      Chromebook Tab 10

My initial concern with the ChromeOS line is that there are going to be some specific applications that I will want to run. Naming DroidPSK and 817 Companion - Ham Radio programs.

How is that an issue? It runs anything Android can run. So if those don't work on Android, why do you want an Android device?

It's not an issue if the ChromeOS will run them. I don't have the bases of ChromeOS, but did look at the CB Tab10, and it should work fine... so - I am open to it as an option.

Android apps can be installed on ChromeOS.

But Google Play Store is only available on selected Chromebooks

New ones with OP1 processor all take the Google Play Store.

It was $150 when I looked, which seems awful given the $179 price of a great Chromebook.

I've been telling people this sort of thing is what to expect for the future of computing solutions for some years now.

Not sure this is the device that will make it catch on but we are ever closer to it being a truly useful option.
