It does seem kinda weird that either a) they supply you with one or b) they reimburse you for providing one of your own.

Using a headset is basically a requirement for a softphone (and since you're now work from home support - I fully expect you'll spend the better part of your day on the phone - so you'll want a headset for that so really that should be a business expense).

ah, they bought it and it'll be here tomorrow.

It looks pretty decent to me. The Evolve2 40 has a more advanced mic though with more suppression of unwanted noise and the Engage 50 is better and much lighter. But it's hard to beat free 🙂

I think you'll be very pleased with it.

One word of warning on these, the mic pivot point it's that robust, be semi-ginger with it, and once you set it, leave it alone.

WTF? That would be a hard no. The entire point of a hinged boom mic is to easily move it.

Same here, If giving the option, go wireless. Dealing with the cord is troublesome.

The T42S line has a usb for a Bluetooth dongle though.

Seriously, you can't go wrong with these. These were a giveaway last year at Spiceworld Austin. @Nic has a set too, so he can attest, I'm sure, to their quality as well. They seriously do rock! They had a 3v3 LoL tournament of Spiceheads v. Spiceworks. Spiceheads got destroyed...didn't help that Sean was a very high level and Sarah was actually RANKED! @Nic nor I had ever played, although I'd seen people play a little bit once or twice. The UC is built for mobile and PCs/Macs. The CS is the deskphone and mobile unit (you actually can use it with the PC too). Again, don't mix 'em up, lest ye be very disappointed.
