@scottalanmiller I have zero experience with XTB & that's what prompted my initial question.

That's worth something. I'm just wondering what we should be looking for. What's the proposed value. Without knowing that, it's easy to overlook during testing.

This alone means that the CEO should be doing everything in their power to do things fiscally responsible, and not waste money. Though it's not a legal mandate like it is in public companies,....

That's why lots of people chose the non-profit world. It's the easiest path to pocketing charity contributions. You can take home so much more money than you can in the for-profit world without having to be good at your job, just not bound by the moral obligations of normal society. Non-profits are built almost totally around moving money inappropriately. And the ease of overpaying vendors and getting kickbacks is so high that it is hard to resist.

And it is all empowered by the general assumption that non-profit management is inept and illogical - this socially accepted failure to do their jobs becomes the means by which taking the charity contributions home gets hidden.

Account was suspended (aka locked). Since it happened at 2AM, impact was minimal.

Wow, there should be some kind of fraud check that should kick in before an account gets auto suspended for somehow getting $16 in charges in less than 24 hours.

      Major failure.

That's what I would think. Like a human looking at it, at least.

It is something I looked at, but with no desire to try and enter an already overcrowded market, I passed on it.

Once upon a time, I know there was an A2Billing module of some kind for the FreePBX GUI for people to get info from their local installs with.

Maybe use @francesco provino blog post as a starting point

I think that needs a little fleshed out for the newbies.

But yes, that might be a good starting point.

      Yes, it works on XS7.

@DustinB3403 was running into the same issues I was on 6.5.

There is dicsussion that some other process is changing it back, but we have not started to troubleshoot that. (I no longer have any XS6.5 boxes here.)

But real XS does have the SMB based ISO mount, it's just not made available for the production storage.

      @DustinB3403

Does it have better performance & is it easier to setup?

That is all dependent on how comfortable you are with software / hardware raid.

Even for software RAID experts, hardware RAID is easier.

well yeah - it's practically plug and play - so few options.

Plus, in hardware RAID (assuming the chassis supports it) you get hot swap, something you don't get with Software RAID.

All enterprise software RAID has hot swap and always has. Only FakeRAID doesn't offer that and even that sometimes does. Hot swap is basically ubiquitous. Even ridiculous Windows software RAID has hot swap.

excuse me, I used the wrong term - I meant Blind swap - the lack of need to tell the OS to demount the drive before you pull it from the system.

Yes, now that software RAID generally lacks.

@scottalanmiller How much rack space is being consumed, 1/2 cab, full cab?

Well, we HAVE a full cab. Over half is used on initial equipment delivery. We have plans for at least one large NAS to be added soon and possible one large Sparc server that we are interested in adding. There will be some empty space, but not a lot.

Anyone know of a Softmart equivalent on the West Coast? I'd like to eliminate the 1 week shipping time from the East Coast.

They don't ship from Philly. Their warehouses are all over the country. I used to do local pickup in Dallas all of the time. No delay to the west coast.

Do they charge for pickup? And where in DFW are they located at? Just curious

They don't charge us at least. And in Carrollton where the tracks cross Josie just north of Trinity Station.

I agree that this feels odd, especially for the type of request.

Yeah it does.. almost like intentionally off the record..

Exactly. If it was a common channel already in use all the time and/or part of an ongoing conversation it would be one thing. But a one off like that of this topic feels strange. Better safe than sorry.

What does Drush do? What requirements does it have that keep it from getting installed?

Drush is a CLI tool for Drupal. You can pretty much manage your whole site with it. But you need root access (or sudo).

If you update Drupal manually on shared hosting you pretty much have to back up the whole site, redownload the new Drupal version, reupload your sites folder (where all your info is), change the DB settings file, and chmod it.

With drush you type drush up drupal and you're done.

Or if you want to update everything (modules and themes also) type drush up

It's more of a pain with shared hosting to do all of that also.
