@scottalanmiller said in Nethserver 7.4 install question:

I think the problem is selecting something. If you select nothing, Nethserver installs. I just did it, no choice needed and it installs the full thing.

Yep, that is the problem....selecting "Minimal Install" makes it a CentOS install, select nothing & all is good.

      My bad, my bad....
Last week I was doing some testing & I set a port forward on port 22 to this host.
Ooops, I forgot to remove the rule.

This is why I only allow RSA key based authentication. No root login, no password login. Disable all other methods.

      @FATeknollogee

You've said that the bosses want the networks to be separate.
You've also said that company B provides a service for company A akin to B providing email services to A, so A needs access to B's network for that single service.

All that said - what is the goal in splitting the networks? Why do it? If you don't know why the bosses want this - ask them. Let's not worry about the how of splitting yet allowing things to continue to work, let's work on the why first - because the helps lead to the correct solution for the goal.

@StuartJordan Next time you decide to spin it up contact me and I will help you with the NAT issue. I have a little time this week. Next week I'm teaching FusionPBX November Admin training as show at www.fusionpbx.com. So if not this week I'll have more time after the training is over.

      15 minutes.

I'm assuming this is remote work. We were always 1 hour minimum for onsite, 15 minutes for a remote.

This was on a MD1000, very old.

MD1000...old school! I know those units. I've got 2 of them in storage gathering dust!

I have 2x LSI 620J. I might just connect it with LSI 9207E HBA

If you don't mind the 3 gbps bus, the MD1000s are amazing.

It is poorly explained all around in their marketing. I saw it for years and forget how I ended up trying it. It was also horribly named before as FachsBachs or something crazy. FaxxBochs.

That blog post is wrong, it says that DRBD must be active/passive. But it has offered active/active for some time.

After a few days, Fedora 27 is running nice & smooth...no crashes yet.
Everything I used on F26 is working fine.

There have been a few F27 updates.
      Gnome is now v3.26.1
      Kernel is 4.13.9-300
      Firefox is Quantum v57.0b11

      Solved
      I posted this on https://www.redhat.com/archives/virt-tools-list/2017-August/msg00210.html

Laszlo Ersek posted the solution: https://www.redhat.com/archives/virt-tools-list/2017-August/msg00244.html
It can be mitigated manually: when the VM boots, interrupt it at the
TianoCore splash screen. In the setup utility, navigate to:

      Boot Maintenance Manager
      Boot Options
      Add Boot Option

      In the file chooser, select

      <whatever device you have>/EFI/fedora/shim.efi

and enter a description (name) for the boot option.

      Then,

      Boot Maintenance Manager
      Boot Options
      Change Boot Order

and move the new boot option to the top of the list.

After you commit the changes, you can forcibly reset the VM, or else
return to the setup TUI front page, and select Reset there.

So is Storage Replica and whole bunch of things you aren't going to use if you aren't within hyperconverged setup. VMware with a separate SKU for VSAN got a better idea. ImHO.

Yes it 100% does. The source doesn't contain all that's in RHEL, so it isn't RHEL.

Right, it doesn't include the EULA 😉

It also doesn't include all of the packages.

      What packages are missing?

A really big one off the top of my head is subscription manager.

Mainly at home, however, i do keep a virtual machine running at work with it installed. Some things I just prefer to do using Fedora. I find it much more flexible and I just like the software better in a lot of cases.

      Ok, got it fixed.
I was treating the allocation like I would in Hyper-V, KVM is slightly different.
      https://superuser.com/questions/1166955/memory-allocation-never-change-for-my-virtual-machine

Setting the Current & Max allocation to the same amounts, 8 or 16, fixed things up.
