      Just ran through this again as moved from a CentOS install to Fedora and only just noticed it pulls down Version 3.0.15?

      Current Version is 3.4.8. Does the script need changing or how do we update to the latest?

      3.0.15 is Zabbix 3.0 LTS version.
      https://www.zabbix.com/download?zabbix=3.0&os_distribution=centos&os_version=7&db=MySQL

      Edit: You will have to manually install the new version.

      Veeam also has a Linux based recovery environment that can provide full recovery of Linux VM's into the HC3 system.

      Unlike windows, the virtio drivers are already built in to the Veeam Linux Recovery ISO so there is no additional step required for it to see the disk to recover to ... so in this example, I just want to restore all of disk vda from the backup repostory to the blank vda disk.

      If anyone is curious as to why these libraries are not in the native Fedora repository, it is due to licensing.

      https://fedoraproject.org/wiki/Forbidden_items

      well, I'd be more curious as to why they aren't included with FF. But as you already told me privately, it's a conflict of license types.

      Yep, just because two different pieces of software are both open source, doesn't mean the licenses work together.

      In my experience with it, it has often corrupted randomly and to the point that it's own snapshots are no help, nor are VMware Snapshots.

      How could it correct VMware snapshots?

      I guess it's more that BtrFS doesn't detect the corruption early enough and our VMware snapshot are nothing but snapshots of corrupt data... That's about the only way I can explain it.

      General risk with hypervisor level backups. This is a huge reason for either local file based or what I call devops backups. They are at a higher level, so there is way more opportunity for this.

      But if the system was okay when you took the VMware snap, it should have been okay when you restored it. Regardless of corruption.

      Yeah, exactly.... and this is why Snapshots are not a backup!

      Snapshots absolutely are the backup mechanism.

      ssh-keygen -t ecdsa -b 521

      Nice. That's the equivalent to 15,360 bit RSA!

      I want to see if e everything I use including GitLab can support that.

      From my reading, it should.

      M

      Finally got this working, reporting my issues here incase someone with similar issues stumbles upon this thread.

      The T54W phones would not download the xml files by https (may be because I do not have a valid certificate setup). I could via the xml files in browser on https but phones would wait awhile and fail.
      I am doing auto provisioning via http, but my default admin port was set to 8080. I could not download xml files via http with admin port on 8080.
      Once I changed the admin port back to default 80, I was able to download xml files via http.
      Phones can now download the php/xml files via http.
      I changed permissions for the php files back to rw/rw/r with owner asterisk:asterisk

      Auto Provisioning was another headache. Eventually I found out that I had the config settings wrong, was using features.remote_phonebook.data.1.url instead of the correct remote_phonebook.data.1.url

      My working basefile edits (using EPM):

      directory_setting.remote_phone_book.enable = 1 remote_phonebook.data.1.name = Internal remote_phonebook.data.1.url = http://<pbx-ip>/ylab.php features.remote_phonebook.enable = 1 remote_phonebook.data.2.name = External remote_phonebook.data.2.url = http://<pbx-ip>/cm_to_yl_ab.php

      With directory_setting.remote_phone_book.enable = 1
      You do not need the favorite_settings.xml to enable the remote directory. But it will put local directory as the first option and remote phonebook as the second option after hitting the directory key.

      I have added this code to change the order:

      directory_setting.local_directory.priority = 2 directory_setting.remote_phone_book.priority = 1

      Or to get rid of the local directory

      directory_setting.local_directory.enable = 0

      Yealink has a Config Parameter Excel file that has all the config parameters and reading it is what lead me to find my mistake.

      I haven’t tried it but process substitution may work if you enable envsubst.

      So rather than an include you might just be able to do:

      $( nslookup domain.com | yada yada)

      Driving so don’t feel like typing out anything.

      Light was showing standby. I left it for about 45 minutes. opened lid. Keyboard lights came on but the screen did not come back up. Pressing keys does nothing. Pressing power button does nothing. hard power cycle required to power on.

      So, seems to be the same issue.

      @jaredbusch out of curiousity how did you go about learning everything you know in linux? A mix of books/documentation/homelab? Any recommendations book-wise if that's something you've done?

      WTF, I jsut know everything. FFS, get with the program.

      Seriously, I do not book learn well. I learn by tinkering. So I learned by breaking shit. Repeatedly.

      It costs a large amount of time to learn things this way. But it is what I do. Book learning generally is no different for most. It all takes time.

      As someone upvoted this post recently, I thought I would circle back. I am using simlinks in all my Fedora systems now.

      This just never worked exactly as advertised. It mostly worked, but never completely.

      I also use symbolic link with Linux and Windows too. For Windows, it keeps me from messing with the default user shell folders / shell folders path or the need to move the locations. And with Linux, I don't have to mess with the user-dirs.dirs file.

      Unlike installing Linux Integration Services, Hot-Add support is not enabled by default after installing hyperv-daemons.

      Create a file /etc/udev/rules.d/100-balloon.rules. You may use any other desired name for the file.

      Add the following content to the file: SUBSYSTEM=="memory", ACTION=="add", ATTR{state}="online"

      Reboot the system to enable Hot-Add support.

      See Note 8 on Supported CentOS and Red Hat Enterprise Linux virtual machines on Hyper-V

      You mean for dynamic memory to work?

      Yes, dynamic memory for ballooning and hot-add.
