Scott is right, even though I've experienced this issue, and I (the IT Person) need to have solutions to help find things, this doesn't mean we need to complicate the entire environment because of the minority.

Deities know - I hate kowtowing to the minority. Have a plan for them when possible, but don't make massive sweeping changing because of them if possible.

In the current world, you can give "normal" users application access and just instruct the minority to search through file shares / Sharepoint.

For anyone else who might need to know how to do this on Fedora 22.

First, take a backup of your VM, it never hurts. And now I've warned you. 😛

Install the Fedora CD into your VM Disk drive, boot from CD.

Select Troubleshooting Rescue a Fedora System

At the console confirm your filesystem path. Mine is at /dev/mapper/fedora-root

Changing 10G to whatever file size you need. To decrease use a -#G.

    lvm lvresize --verbose --resizefs -L 10G /dev/mapper/vgname-lvname

Let it complete, should only take a bit.

    reboot

There you have it, your Fedora Root Partition should now be expanded to whatever size you need.

And they likely redeploy stuff, so they might deploy gear that has already been paid for.

Just putting it out there for the sake of it.

You can run the User State Migration Tool...

    NOTE:

When I drill into the ISCSI LUN on Xen Server

I select the DISK and click "MOVE"

"Upgrade XenServer to enable VDI Live migration. This feature enables you to migrate multiple running VDI's on shared storage between SR's"

I will try again when I power down this virtual machine and see if it gives me a disk move options. That way could move the entire disk to a different storage repository (NFS Share this time). Then from there, expand that disk size.

But in the past. When I expand the disk seize of the volume attached. Windows does not see it as a larger disk... Windows see's the additional storage space as a seperate drive. I've had to merge these drives together.

So do you have the ability to backup this virtual hard disk at the hypervisor level? Then restore it to the NFS volume. Schedule some down time and detach the one connected to the iSCSI storage and attached the NFS one. That should maintain the drive letter and all the configs...

My wife bought me something similar as a birthday gift, but I've never tried it. For whatever reason I'm only buying beer in bottles, so it won't fit.

Hang a couple of those off the server. Maybe we'll get close to that 495W!

Hell yes, what good is a single beer

Cool. A few months back, I stumbled across MobaXterm and snagged it when I had a few extra bucks. I'll keep my eyes on RoyalTS for sure, though.

Just checked MobaXterm and i really like it. My most favorite option as of now is the file explorer & shell on the same window. Helps me a lot if i need to edit some text files, copy files to and from the desktop etc at the same time while executing other commands.

Best tip I ever had from an old sysadmin:

Never spend more on booze than you do on groceries in a week. Try not to spend much less, either.

When I lived in Dallas, we had a $400/wk liquor tab!!

what would put me in a near comma.

    From memory,
Install the printer on a server, install all driver versions needed for that printer.

Even if you are setting up an IP direct printer, you can have GPOs tell the systems to pull the drivers from a server. There are 3-5 other GPO keys that you need to set to allow users to install printers as non admin.

LTO is $8/TB. That would mean a 4TB drive with far better than RDX speed or reliability would need to be $32 for normal sizes and $64 for the biggest on the market. Tape looks to be like 1/10th the cost of drives.

How much does the actual drive cost?

I didn't get online last night, so I haven't checked to see if there is a new driver for Windows 10.

I've replaced optical drive with SSD in 27 inch 2009 iMac. It required a conversion tray, iFixit has it for sale. They also have guides how to do it, step by step with pictures. And since yours doesn't have display fused with glass (2012 models and newer), it's fairly easy.
I never bothered to enable TRIM, and I saw no side effects.

The optical drive bay is 3GB/s ... did you keep your original hard drive?

I'm debating doing a full swap to get the full 6GB/s.
