I've tried a few. I'm good at starting a timer but then always forget to stop it and end up getting a notification that I've been working on a 15 minute task for 22 hours non-stop.
So it turns out that srv records above 512 bytes is not supported by Freeswitch, so we had to remove these records. I'll update you guys on a different DNS strategy shortly.
More importantly than "is it secure" would be "does it meet HIPAA requirements?"
In both cases, the answer is "no". It is a HIPAA violation to use one for PHI.
Well, people are now making excuses - the data collected on them isn't PHI therefore we don't need to worry about it. /sigh.
Then the answer is simple... in no way, in no universe, does using an iPad 2 constitute defensible due diligence. No semi-reasonable court would look on that as anything but an intentional lack of effort at the cost of customer data being put at risk.
So this morning, no one on RDS had printers again.
WTF..
So I manually added a printer direclty on the RDS server (not from the Print Server (the DC)). IT showed up immediately on all users and was able to be printed to.
So I manually added all the printers direct. Issues resolved for the moment.
But if compliance is required, don't you have to abide and make decision based on both real security as well as compliance?
Nothing makes you abide by good security other than the risk of being sued over it. So no, you don't have to abide by both. Is it best to, sure of course, if you value you company.
Have you gave any recommendations on how to use powershell in a secure way? You could ask for a bastion host to that's only purpose is to send out PS scripts and block internet access on it.
Since I'm the new guy.. they don't hear but so well.. maybe in time. And I do bring it up from time to time..
I think sometimes they listen to new guys more. You bring experience from other places
yeah, assuming the new guy is a consultant 😉 since they are paying them huge money, why pay them if not going to listen.. but so often it seems to be the case to ignore internal resources because you just earn a salary.. it's so ridiculous!
I've started another set of ports this morning.. they are going much slower than the previous rounds.
uh - maybe not... I just called one of them.. and it's in the new carrier's log.. so looks like that port is already done - just no paperwork to me yet.
If the new carrier is Skyetel and you are making a test call from Skyetel, it will route prior to port.
This is really the same for any carrier. Once it is listed in their network, calls on their network will use it.
I never had an issue with Cisco ATAs connected to a cloud service behind Sonicwall devices. I don't recall setting anything up, but I am curious enough to review my setup notes to confirm.
We have not either. We have many Cisco SPA ATAs in service. All of them behind Sonicwalls. This is the only one connected to Skyetel.
Would need to see the packet as I mentioned above to try and give you any kind of answer on why.
It is 100% their fault and they realize it. It is one of those instances where the bill just kept going up each year and they kept paying it. They have had this service for decades.
That wasn't a good price in the 1990s. By 2000, it was beyond absurd. At best, it's been insane for twenty years.
For logistics, I would also place scheduled tasks that I created in their own task folder. Just like Microsoft and others have.
That way I know the tasks in there is not generated by something else.
One could also fix the description to say the source of the task. I get the appeal of placing them in their own folder nested somewhere in that mess, but it's so much easier to deal with them in the top level directory.
I guess you could fix the name. But it's mostly misbehaving apps that put tasks in the top level directory. I mean Microsoft added the folder structure for task organization. It wasn't there in the old days.
