If the auditors are involved in looking at OSes, they must care about them. It sounds like this are IT consultants if they are auditing IT. If they are not IT auditors, why are the getting involved in under the hood IT decision making? What kind of auditing are they doing?

Well this saga isn't over yet.

My old Windows 2008 R2 KMS server is still up and running, has KMS installed, but is NOT published in DNS - I've confirmed this.

But when I went to a computer and ran

cscript slmgr.vbs /ato

to force a re-registration, it still registered with the old server.

Now I've disabled the port (1688) on the old server. Now to see how the client PCs handle that.

Unitrends actually uses KVM for its stuff 🙂

I got my answer. It turns out OSPF applies a default metric to readvertised EIGRP routes, but EIGRP does not apply a default metric to readvertised OSPF routes. So I modified my EIGRP config like so:

router eigrp 100
redistribute static
redistribute ospf 3 metric 1000000 0 255 1 1500
no auto-summary
no eigrp log-neighbor-changes
network 10.0.0.0
network 172.19.0.0

BOOM, works!

Have you used Cinnamon? It is seriously slick. I have never used any desktop on any environment that is a nice.

Crontab jobs might make a backup copy as you're scheduling cron jobs or making adjustments. IE: crontab.XXXXGvrDIU

Which for some reason take a ton of space...

Making certain you clean up any manually downloaded patches (if the built in patcher fails for some reason) and removing log files if they become unwieldy.

Rolling out several more Linux machines here today and hopefully will be building out some demo environments of what a 100% Linux environment would look like.

Also, there is stuff that isn't rating related that I just might not need everyone to see. It would be nice if you could go the opposite. Everything is hidden, and you enable what you want. But perhaps I'm an outlier. (PROBABLE.)

No go unfortunately. I'm going to ask the vendor if the app supports SAML based authentication. I'm pretty sure the answer is going to be no, but it's worth an ask.

That's not totally true, all profiles files are left, that doesn't mean you can still login to it necessarily. There's no process for AD to talk to the local computer to tell it the user was removed. It is just a directory service, The local computer has to request to login to the account. There is no method AD to tell computers anything changed without them requesting.

I have tested a few times, and it works great. This is a huge help and I don't have to worry about limits or trials. It's completely free.
