I hate being cold. I mean I HATE HATE HATE being cold. Warm is awesome. I lived in an African Jungle for a year and loved the hot, sticky I can deal with but hot I love.
I don't like the humidity at all and I've lived my whole life here. I can deal with it during the day, but I wish there was some relief at night. It can be 80 degrees at night and you will sweat strictly from humidity.
Right now I would take anything warmer than say oh 1 I am so sick of the cold and negative windchills.
I would call you a wimp of a NYer but you have legit reasons...
I should not be from NY. I am Italian and I need to be in my homeland where it doesn't go below like 40 ever.
And @scottalanmiller will be just on the other side of the bay from you!
It's a Gulf. The Gulf of Lion.
Oh whatever...

i'm offering an opportunity for praise
http://www.staples.com/Staples-Connect-HUB-Kits/cat_CL211634 is what i'm talkin bout.I know a little about these but not necessarily our brand. Usually you replace your thermostat with a digital version that can be tapped into via a browser portal, etc. We don't sell these in-store, and Staples is currently working to rival Amazon in the online space so it's not surprising I haven't seen these.
Our SKU system had been 6 digits since the company's founding in the 80s and they ran out of SKUs last year some time, so now it's up to 7 digits. Did you have any specific questions about them? It's designed so you can, usually from a smartphone, turn on things like your entryway lights, turn on/up the heat/AC before you get home, etc. You can also automate these things on a scheduling system. Pretty neat I think.

RE: For the New Yorkers
Yeah, it was -1 F here earlier. Once you cross into the negative digits, you enter bitter cold territory. Single digits through and including 16 are just frigid. 17-32F is cold. 33-59 is cool.
On a separate note, my father told me I was a sick child today because I was trying to explain to him how I hate sunshine, think it's a horrible thing, and it makes me feel sleepy and depressed. Also tried explaining how I only feel great and truly alive on the days that most people consider miserable, like totally overcast or gloomy, dark and rainy. Apparently I'm one weird dude...

I would never trust that DC again. Time to rebuild.
It's secured with Webroot. Also, there's been no indication of an attack. I'm not decomming it without a good reason.
It's not like he'll have it for long anyway. He doesn't have a datacenter license for every CPU in the cloud so he can't run anything but a demo license that expires in 90 days there.
Not sure what you're talking about. My key is fully activated.

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
I'm onto a new series...Bones! Great show! @scottalanmiller and @Dominica would like it, me thinks.

AJ, tell me about the Staples "smarthome hub"
You mean Office Max/Office Depot/Staples haha.
Oh, you mean those office stores that are always empty, have crappy broken floors and ceilings like an old K Mart, and yet astonishingly stay open?
Not all are like that but many are, I won't deny it.

I honestly have no clue what you're referring to. It's been a year and a half since my last stint at Staples and I've only been back two weeks. A TON has changed...still playing catch-up in learning all this new ****.

Only to people who have never worked with him... and I have. He's also my mentor, so I can say that...
@scottalanmiller
Haha, damn that's cold blooded
Trust me, I had the same reaction you did until I worked at NTG...but it was a different era when I started there...LOL
It never fails.. Everyime I've gotten on here there's a new post from you for me to shake my head at.. Seriously, do you think trash talking companies, co-workers and former co-workers is how to be liked in the IT community? It's not. Most job will search your online profiles.
And this is very condescending to @scottalanmiller. Even if you don't agree with his style or opinion's you can disagree with them without disrespecting him.
Ask @scottalanmiller if he thinks I'm trash talking him. He already has responded that clearly he doesn't. Besides, your comment about "being liked" made me chuckle. I stopped trying to be liked by everyone a LONG time ago. No, there are plenty of people who like me for me. I don't mask most of what I have to say, and believe it or not, but I do refrain from saying quite a bit because it's not appropriate/beneficial/etc to anyone.
I stopped trying to say what everyone wanted to hear a long time ago, and rather switched to a policy of unbridled honesty. It makes enemies. It burns some bridges. But it hasn't hurt me from a job perspective as of yet, and while I appreciate you seeming to think I'm shooting myself in the foot, due to the tone of your comments, I started toning a lot of your criticisms out a long time ago. I still read them, but in a different light.
But in the spirit of the thread, thank you for your advice.
