They mean signing into Active Directory, not the server (the server too, I'm sure.) Do your users have MFA when signing into their desktops?

No they don't have MFA for signing into the desktops.

They also mentioned MFA for routers. Not sure the edgerouter can do this.

They LIKELY mean for a VPN on the router, not for the login. But for login, you can do MFA if you only log in via SSH with certs.

I've started another set of ports this morning.. they are going much slower than the previous rounds.

uh - maybe not... I just called one of them.. and it's in the new carrier's log.. so looks like that port is already done - just no paperwork to me yet.

If the new carrier is Skyetel and you are making a test call from Skyetel, it will route prior to port.

This is really the same for any carrier. Once it is listed in their network, calls on their network will use it.

      DUH!.. thanks.

It’s good that MS is upgrading Outlook to make it work better with Teams work. let's see what happens

Or people could catch up to 2003 and have everything fully integrated already like all of MS' competitors have had for nearly two decades now, lol. The use of Outlook remains pretty silly and it would be better if no one cared rather than MS trying to shoehorn Teams into a product that people shouldn't be deploying.

Might be something with the ISO image hosted on Vultr.

Definitely not. That's like saying it might be related to the hamburger you had at lunch. There's absolutely no connection.

It's because rebooting the server caused all of the connections to drop and the bad router to partially start over. So it's a problem that's going to come back, you just bought yourself more time.

Fundamentally, your system isn't built for reliable Internet traffic. AT&T is garbage stuff and this is just part of the penalty for being stuck in one of their regions. We have the same problem here in the third world. Vendors don't understand the basics and things like bridge mode can be hard.

Not on by default for Mac and Linux users

@jospoortvliet - posted at the bottom of their blog.

For people looking to test and play with this on Linux and Mac OS X:
You can set the configuration option in nextcloud.cfg: enableExperimentalOptions=true
Then you will be able to also see the virtual files.

Apparently I've asked a similar question in the past. Guess the answer is to lower the ring time to 27 or 28 seconds.

      https://mangolassi.it/topic/18468/ring-time-for-find-me-follow-me-w-call-confirmation/6

Not exactly the same thing. FollowMe is more or less a ring grop, but it is not a ring group.

IMO, you don't want a ring group to include a mobile, it just adds problems.

Have the ring group fail to an extension with FollowMe and let that ring to the mobile.

      Agreed

At this point my only option to support their hardware is to modify the root password on their VMWare server and then modify the domain admin password assuming there is no encryption in place. I would much rather the client contact their attorney and have the old IT hand everything over.

Pretty much, yeah, if they aren't willing to take the proper business steps, all you can do is mitigate.

@DustinB3403 - Got it working!! I appreciate to push in the right direction.

It actually was a lot easier than expected. I had to do two things:

Install SigPlus on both the client and the RDP server Setup 2 GPOs

      GPOs:

      Configure USB Redirection with RemoteFX

Set the following Group Policy setting on RDS hosts or VDI desktop to "Disabled":

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Device and Resource Redirection\Do not allow supported Plug and Play device redirection

Set the following Group Policy setting on client machines to "Enabled":

Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Connection Client\RemoteFX USB Device Redirection\Allow RDP redirection of other supported RemoteFX USB devices from this computer

How long did you wait before changing all your stuff to Chicago 6?

It didn't take that long but was just a pain. I literally just finished updating 10 PBX systems to point to Chicago6 which is what VoipMS switched everyone to and then all of a sudden Chicago7 came back online and they automatically moved everyone back to Chicago7. I had to go back in and change everyone back to Chicago7 on the PBX.

Did they not update the DNS to be the IP for 6 also?

No both domains pointed to different ip addresses.

That really seems unreasonable on their part. The expectation that all of their customers on 7 have to manually change to 6, then back... super crazy!!

Just another thought, I backup the server with Veeam Agent for Windows (free). If I installed Veeam Backup and Recovery, can I read the contents of my Agent backups? Then I could potentially use Veeam Explorer for Exchange to extract the contents?

      that should work.

Just a follow up, I was able to install Veeam Backup and Replication (Community) and imported my Veeam Agent for Windows (Free) in to it. I was then able to use Explorer for Exchange to mount the backup file and export the emails from the user to a PST.

Don't accept the shipment and let it get back to Dell. That is the only way.

My rep finally got back to me and told me to do the same thing. I just wish there was a way to stop the shipment before it reaches my door. I tried to put a call in to Mach1 but couldn't get through to anyone.

If doing multicast at a single site from just the phones, is there a device limit or a point at which you can cause issues on the network? This site is 35 phones so I don't see that being the case but just out of curiosity.

No limit, because that is the point of multicast

For now I am assuming the SonicWall was the culprit but tomorrow will tell.

It's a known "doesn't work" piece of hardware. I'm pretty sure, based on the unethical reasons why SonicWall exists and is sold (they are a "only for resellers to screw companies" product, not one for IT to select) that they break VoIP by default to probably support some kind of resell or consulting effort so that when competitor VoIP doesn't work, the unethical VAR who deals in SW can magically make their own work and resell that.

Yeah that shouldn't happen. First thing to check on that would be to ensure there were no saved credentials in Windows Credential Manager that may be trying to conflict. Otherwise, that sounds like a fluke issue and not something normal.

If this client has something like -----Client 1\Change Orders\ for a path you would simple add a -replace '-----','-' which would remove all of the extra hyphens which aren't actually being beneficial in anyway to the process.
