One step closer to resurrecting old technology. There is what seems a growing interest in Packet Radio (Ham Radio). Yes it's old technology, and it's 'slow' compared to so many other things, but it's fun (at least to me and some in the hobby).
May go for 'old school' hardware, but may also use some new tech TNCPi.

I vote for old school gear. Some friends and I were just discussing how warm and comforting vacuum tubes are.

Oh yes,.. I don't have anything that old. I do have a repaired and working Radio Shack / Tandy HTX-202 VHF hand held. I would like to have a tube transmitter,.. but they are expensive, and may were actually TWO radios,.. a Receiver / Transmitter pair, and you had to switch between them to operate.
For packet, I still have my KPC 3+ from the early 1990s.. at one point I had a really portable setup:
- Jornada 720 PDA
- Kantronics KPC 3+ TNC
- HTX-202 radio (1 or 7watt output)
Was fun yet small

About to reheat this weekends worth of leftovers which includes Thai food and tamales.
After that, apologizing to my toilet, probably.
