Unfortunately with me taking my new job I get 1 vacation day at my 6 months mark and then don't get any vacation for the rest of the year. At my year mark I get two weeks every year. This unfortunately means I can't go to Mangocon. Sorry guys

I've heard of jobs like this - you earn it, but they give it all to you at the start of the Second Year. I'm not sure if this means they wouldn't owe you anything vacation pay wise if you quit during the first year or not.
That's just bizarre to me... although I know some US companies that don't give any paid time off so...

Well, that sucks.
Yup. But everyone is free to negotiate it themselves and salaries are higher because of it not being there. So it is all about your cloat, desires and negotiations. It's bad, but not as bad as it seems.

So maybe it's just because I'm using Chrome on Linux, but the toggles for the sessions on the MangoCon site aren't working. I can see everything if I use developer tools, but when you click the plus, nothing happens.
