Anyway, you can use the Datto just like I outlined for the UniFi. Assuming you can get it programmed by someone.

@WrCombs - did you reset the AP before using the AP? If no, that's why you couldn't find it.

Also, I'm not sure if the app can find an AP via non associated wifi or not - I'm guessing it must be able to, as home users wouldn't typically have a way for their cell phone to be attached to the physical network since you're just now trying to install wifi in the home.

I have 17 Ruckus R610 APs and they only get rebooted when new firmware is applied.

Weird - where did you buy them from? Failures do happen, but 2 out of 3 failing.. that's pretty bad.

I deployed UAPs (22 and no failures) and it has worked flawlessly for me for 8 months so far.

This was 2012-2013 time frame, so given the average experience I'm not knocking them off the list permanently.

They were off of Amazon. From UBNT iirc.

The ERL in 2012/2013 was iffy. But not the basic UAP. interesting experience.

We've been able to Default the remaining APs and they are adopted. We have one that is being stubborn, while it 'pings' it's not reachable. Suspect an issue with the AP itself. One just lost the heartbeat, but, it was found and adopted.

All in all, four of the six are running and good to go. lot better than where we started.
