So anyone who purchased a Remix Mini, if you do the recent update it will remove all google apps and the Play Store. If you want the Play Store back, you have to side load it and then reinstall all of your apps. If you skip this update, you won't get any more updates.
Trying to debate whether I want to update or not.
I did my tablet and was quite shocked when that happened. The update has been worth it though. My tablet has been awesome on it.
Ah I didn't think it was supposed to affect the tablets since they had a set screen size. From what I read it was because some apps weren't behaving correctly since you could use any size/resolution screen. That's interesting.
Did remix stop paying Google? is that why it was removed?
Supposedly Google asked them to remove the Play Store because of the different sized screen issues. Some people believe it's because Chrome OS is going to have the Play Store and Android is going to have a full window experience.
That would seem more like a revocation of a license. If Remix has a license to include the Play Store - can Google just ask/tell them to remove it?

That would depend on the license itself.

It looks like it may not be included only on the PC version. I can't recall actually having to install it on my Tablet after this last update was done. I have a little tiny Dell laptop with the PC version on it, and I definitely had to install Play on that one.

That seems a bit over the top
Ya so I tried VGA but it's kind of fuzzy on my HP monitor.
Why not install the Nvidia drivers and be done with it?
Well from what I saw its kind of involved (at least on Fedora). Plus it was the end of the day and I just wanted to go home haha.
Going home trumps all... Install NVIDIA drivers on Tuesday... Money is not a good day to install NVIDIA drivers, ha ha.
Well got the NVIDIA drivers installed today. Wasn't too bad. And now everything isn't fuzzy.

I plan to make a RADIUS server twice as good as any before. I'll just call it Diameter.

Would you like some π with that?

there must be a joke I'm missing.
I'm seriously asking if he stood up a Linux box or did it on Windows?

I kinda want to know as well.
Terrible, geeky, math jokes.

A radius is the distance from the centre of a circle to the outside, a diameter is the distance from one side to the other, going through the centre, ergo a diameter is basically double the radius...

oh - well duh.. I wasn't reading it that literal. I guess either I'm still asleep or to busy with other things.

@JaredBusch is this a new array you're setting up, or just wiping it out for giggles?

The unit was used temporarily at one client last year to hold some data,. It had email accounts and stuff all setup in it and I did not want to go change all the settings.
Now I am needing to use it for a different project and wanted to reset the settings. I had no idea that the build in reset function also ran this drive wipe.
As I am not needing it for a couple weeks I am letting it run for the hell of it.
