ScreenConnect (SC) has been a really useful too. I like it over TeamViewer and LogMeIn...
Why do you prefer SC over TV?
Price point. Even with the new ScreenConnect pricing, it is better.
-
Cloud or Self hosted?
-
Self hosted on an existing colo'd Hyper-V Host, but even if it was self hosted on a paid host, it could run on DO or something no problem.
-
@JaredBusch
That sounds good. What edition do you have & what was pricing like?

That is an excellent question and one that I now realize I can't truly answer. We have a Technician License for SC, I have only used TV in the free mode.
TeamViewer is still very much a good product don't get me wrong. I would still use it for supporting my family if I needed. But since they generally just save the questions until I visit,.. I haven't had a need to use it lately.

I use GotoAssist by Citrix.
Again, pricing is better, plus they give you a few more features than teamviewer.

Not sure the pricing can beat that of SC.

I generally avoid Goto... anything because of requirements on the client. Their GotoMeeting is so bad, I assume their Assist is built on the same technology. I never tried it because of the other Goto product quality issues,

Yeah I much prefer SC for doing any sort of work that needs rebooting or updates

15 years ago when Citrix was the only player (or at least the only player I could easily find) back then, their remote solution was pretty nice. No clue what it's like today.

I rarely see it anymore, but when I do I know that a webinar is going to fail. Always has like weird Java requirements or something that people just don't normally have today and causes all kinds of issues. You always seem to need an admin to set it up for you ahead of time.

Screen Connect I've not looked at. Performance has been fine my end on client devices and servers.
I knew I did not want to self manage the remote tool though, hence Screen Connector, Bomgar and other things are ruled out.

Why does that rule out SC?

These are the screen connect premium features:

Video auditingThat I get with gotoassist as part of their standard package at half the price.

There are "other" options for Screen Connect as well - though I'm not sure if they are public information?
