I just added a 7.24TiB md raid 10 lvm on iscsi storage device to my xenserver pool. Testing how it performs now.

verizon did this to see what the backlash would be. Expect this to be mandatory on all their phones within a year or two.

RE: XenServer Local SR: Need another pair of eyes

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
@DustinB3403 I am just xferring some unimportant vm disks to it and back. Like my sysadmin vm disk, XO disk. Possibly there is something else to use to test it, but i dont know

@scottalanmiller Noooo! Still havent seen an episode of this show. If it has zombies as the main thing, i avoid it. Games, movies, tv shows. Thought i was the only one, looks like i might be now.

RE: Windows Vista Has Reached End of Life
2 more GB of RAM and an SSD that thing would run Win7/8/10 no problem.

RE: BRRABill's Field Report With XenServer
The last 2 updates for XS dont require reboots, just a restart of the xapi iirc from a couple weeks ago.
If they were the updates for ssl fixes and the one for gpus, that is. Teh other updates that are rollups of 2 or more updates do require restarts usually. -

@phlipelder said in Interviewing Candidates for a Jr. IT Systems Administrator Position- Good Questions to Ask?:
In candidates watch out for this one that they may ask: "What PSA do you use?"
We avoid script jockeys at all costs.
What is PSA in this context?

RE: Xenserver Space Woes
Ok, well then, I am just about out of ideas.
Is your Unitrends doing a backup now? At what point do your backups fail? Quickly? during bacup? During cleanup after backup(deleting snapshots, etc).
I also use Unitrends and had some problems at the beginning.
Perhaps i can help fix the Unitrends problem before you go about deleting 2TB vdis that you may or may not need. -
RE: Which of the 16 Are You?
Just did again and got INTP-A so perhaps im not such a jerk, unless you do something incorrect.

RE: Nutanix Stock Collapsing, Executives Bailing on the Company
@MattSpeller Happens all the time. TSLA lost 330Million on revs of 2.7Billion. For years Amazon lost money on revs in the tens of billions. For many companies in growth phase losing tons of money every year or quarter just happens with growth. You expect them to right the ship in the future if you invest.

RE: Live Streaming of Conference?
@RojoLoco Or drinks, or butter, or gum. The menu at these places is larger than any restaurant. 2-3 pages of flower, 1 page or 2 of pre-rolls, 2-3 pages of edibles. Plus a whiteboard where they write down daily specials.
