@JasGot Thanks everyone. This was very helpful. And that other discussion was too.

After further discussion with them, they are only trying to protect the routing and account number for accounts. The same routing and account number that is printed on their check and sent through us mail.

They agreed, this level of secure transmission is not required.

      Thanks.....

We have a customer that would like 24/7 helpdesk support. We are not able to provide this. Are there companies how offer helpdesk services as a reseller service?

NTG... @scottalanmiller You'd be the source for this, but sounds like it's something NTG would do.

      We do 😉

I'm open to even the wildest ideas.

Is it only MS solutions for documents that they want, or are other options on the table too? Assuming so, but would be foolish not to check.

      Yes, MS Only.

Have him link to specific regulation, then verify.

      @JasGot Do this ^
Because this request is not something that is not required per the ITU T.30. There is a function for a PPS (partial page signal), but it is optional in the standard. That means there is no way to know if any one manufacturer built their unit to use that bit of the standard or not.

Think XMPP for the modern era

Are there any intra-office apps for this? We have been using Spark on top of Ignite for many years.

Is there anything you like btter?

That's what we replaced with these tools specifically. Slack, Rocket, Mattermost... those seem to be the best for crossing company boundaries. Cliq, Teams, etc. are great for inside a single controlled company, but don't fare well at going between them. Especially not Teams, what a mess that is.

@Pete-S Not sure if he even has a CRM setup. Often when clients like an aspect of a current implementation, telling them that you can't, that you must do it a different way isn't always met positively. They say - Yes I want the new better stuff, but I still need this old piece.

      Right!
There's no CRM and no need for CRM. Just need those two bits of info in the screen shots. More is fine, but must have this info, can even be laid out different and doesn't really need smileys.

@JasGot NTG has developers now for exactly this reason. This past year our requests for development work have exploded and it has gone from something we didn't do to half our billable hours in three months, it's crazy.

Which languages are most in demand? Or do you limit the work you accept?

PHP and C# is what I see. Some Python. And obviously JS mixed with everything.

@Carnival-Boy But if they have 100Mb now and it works fine, how will 100Mb be slow and choppy with a faster ISP?

That can actually happen. If you overdrive the router, packets arrive but dont get processed efficiently. Then it starts dropping things.

Exactly, no matter what here, until you can get access not ONLY to the OS but also to the application, that's your only option.
