Yes, RDS is built from XenApp. They are one and the same, XenApp just has more features.

I believe that Incinga has really picked up speed and is the more popular approach now. Just less to deal with.

It does as far as I know, because my CrashPlan Pro at one location fails to see the NAS folder on C:\Backup after the PC reboots until I log in.

Never looked for a way around it.

Can you make the CrashPlan service log in with your credentials?

That's what I had to do when I was using EFS. (Though I believe it now supports it if installed as each user without doing the logon as service route.)

Yeah, you can do that. Just modify the service to log on as whatever user you need it to log on as. IIRC, though, they don't officially support this.

For anyone else who might need to know how to do this on Fedora 22.

First, take a backup of your VM, it never hurts. And now I've warned you. 😛

Install the Fedora CD into your VM Disk drive, boot from CD.

Select Troubleshooting Rescue a Fedora System

At the console confirm your filesystem path. Mine is at /dev/mapper/fedora-root

Changing 10G to whatever file size you need. To decrease use a -#G.

      lvm lvresize --verbose --resizefs -L 10G /dev/mapper/vgname-lvname

Let it complete, should only take a bit.

      reboot

There you have it, your Fedora Root Partition should now be expanded to whatever size you need.

So the exclusions I've had to add to get everything "functional" are listed below.

      File System Shield

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\m_agent_upgrade.exe

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\meraki-ca-bundle.crt

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\ndisscan.exe

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\README-winvnc.txt

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\screenshot-cmd.exe

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\windows-wlan.exe

      C:\Program Files (x86)\Meraki\winvnc.exe

      Mail Shield

Inbound Mail - Un-check 'Scan inbound mail (POP3, IMAP4)' (UltraVNC)

      Web Shield Process Exclusions
The same processes as in File System Shield

      Yeah, some definitely will.

I wonder what that will do against Virtualization platforms like XenServer, VMware, et al...

if an lxc-container is functionally equivalent to a VM... Would it be possible to run Windows in an lxc-container... That type of thing.

No, we've had those containers for a decade and we are nowhere near having Windows in them. They all share the parents' kernel by definition. So no Windows coming on Linux containers. Much closer to PV Windows on Xen, at least that has been done in a lab.

What about Containerization on Windows? Didn't OpenVZ or Virtuozzo...used to offer something like that?

You can, in theory, make Windows containers on Windows. But you have to be on Windows already.

@scottalanmiller I believe that's right, I used it a very long time ago, but can't remember the specifics of how we set it up.

It does do a rather good job from what I remember.

I should mention, if you want a cast iron pan go to a 2nd hand / salvation army store. Buy the one that has the most shiny inky midnight black slick looking surface you can find. Grandma put some effort into getting it nice and that takes years.
