I'm quite happy with it as well, I've deployed a couple of production servers using proxmox and all good so far as well

RE: What Are You Doing Right Now
Most supermarkets have ran out of Toliet roll, Meat, Bread and milk. Most shelves are empty due to people panic buying. These people are so selfish.

RE: New to Windows Active Directory and Group Security Management

Imagine a competent sysadmin that keeps that shit off the network.
Well you know that not everyone is a competent sysadmin though and things can happen. If you can reduce risk then why the hell not.
Local acount would be using MS LAPS to make secure password and turn on for password expiry. My main point though was not using any Domain Admin account for escalation.

RE: New to Windows Active Directory and Group Security Management
@Dashrender Imagine using this Domain Admin account on workstations constantly. Imagine a 0 day RAT tool or Key Logger is on one of these machines. At least if it's just a local admin account they cannot do as much damage.

RE: New to Windows Active Directory and Group Security Management
Using a local Administrator account is better than using a Domain Account on all workstations. You can add a GPO that will push a Local Administrator account to all machines using Restricted Groups. It's advised not keep using the domain account for privilege escalation for installing applications etc.

RE: Chromium memory usage
I keep hearing Brave mentioned by a few people. I have all my passwords and sites synced on all my devices and not looking to change browsers.

RE: Chromium memory usage
@Grey thank you for your input lol
on a serious note I like chrome. I use it on my phone as well.

Chromium memory usage
Evening All,
Out of interest what's your rough memory usage using chromium with 3 tabs open. I'm seeing quite high usage but, my Chromium is running in a snap package.

RE: Miscellaneous Tech News
Tesco is issuing new cards to 600,000 Clubcard account holders after unearthing a security issue.
The supermarket giant said it believed a database of stolen usernames and passwords from other platforms had been tried out on its websites, and may have worked in some cases.

RE: If there has been a breach.
Another alternative they were thinking about is going to your local newsagents/shop and showing your ID there and then given a unique authorisation code to be entered online. I though both ideas were completely stupid considering a lot of people now use VPNs in the UK.
-
RE: If there has been a breach.
@Dashrender If the DL or passport was leaked. The main 2 forms of ID accepted in the UK.
-
RE: If there has been a breach.
similar subject has been brought up in the UK recently. The government wanted all porn sites to use a central ID checking scheme where access will only be provided using a driving licence or passport etc. Privacy groups mentioned it would be too risky if the private information was ever leaked. This has kind of been stalled now as it was also mentioned that DNS will be encrypted by most browsers soon.

Ugh.... My new band is now drummer-less, and the search begins. Such a PITA. And right when we were starting to build a little steam and momentum. No bad blood, the guy just walked away, but here we are, high and dry.
That's Rough man
Drummers aren't hard to find, good ones however, are.Truth. We know lots of good ones, all of them are in at least 3 bands and have no time. But the feelers are out, fingers crossed.
Good luck man.
Thanks. I'm going to concentrate on building my home setup for now... Gonna be rocking out mad beats and dubs.
you're into EDM music to then?
Got all the Dubs and Wubs coming outta Rojo's House .
I'm into everything that isn't pop. I'm a huge DnB head from way back, have played in a roots reggae/dub band, etc. I'll shoot you some links on the DM.
Don't mind a bit of Dnb sometimes, I mainly listen to hiphop. Also tunes I make are mainly trap/hiphop.

RE: Software to complete Disable/Enable Windows updates on Windows 10?
I am exaggerating the time a bit, just find the update system a lot worse then how they pushed updates in the past.
Look how much the feature updates have been messing everyone up as well, I have had it with 1809 had to do a full clean reinstall. Microsoft changing to windows as a service is where the problems all started. It was a complete change of direction they took. -
RE: Software to complete Disable/Enable Windows updates on Windows 10?
If you do need to reboot for a kernel update you can do it when you want to, it's not pushed so harsh and not bombarded with notifications every 10 minutes.

RE: Software to complete Disable/Enable Windows updates on Windows 10?
@Dashrender have you not used a Linux Distro? security updates are pretty much pushed through without having to reboot.
