The policy setting was applied. We'll see what happens. This has been happening (according to what I've been told- the event log seems to agree) sometimes as much as 10-15 times over the course of a day.

Just handed out the award for our 10,000th ticket!! One of my users is getting dinner on the company.
Wait... so, you reward users for bothering you on a regular basis?
Yep!
Especially considering if they ceased to bother us I'd cease to be employed.
There is a balance there. You can be bothered less and still maintain the same value to the company, to a point. That's the line you don't want to cross. Close isn't a bad thing though. You can always resort to mild sabotage if the balance is dangerously close to being upset. Just don't get caught.

I feel that this thing may have somehow gone sideways. Has the joke been left a face-value, or has @JaredBusch now accepted his title as a challenge to be upheld?

RE: Need suggestions for IP desk phone that works with wifi
Experience has taught me that VOIP desk phones over wifi is too jittery. Have you had differing results?

@aidan_walsh Nice, this is who we have in Rochester....
I'm not usually one for flavoured spirits but that Apple Pie Monshine sounds great.
Oh no, it's disgusting. Moonshine is like a new bizarre fake term in the US for "utterly shit sprits". No one would put the label moonshine on a product if it was palatable. THat's for the hipster kids to think that they are drinking something illegal when, in fact, it's just overpriced garbage.
So true. The only real moonshine comes from a bootlegger up in the hills, in an unlabeled mason jar. I am very fortunate to be semi-connected to some rural moonshine aficionados, and what they bring over on holidays is the truth.
Same here, I drink actual moonshine and it is awesome. What is labeled that is stores is just a gimmick. Nothing like moonshine in taste OR in actuality.
Exactly. Real 'shine has a super clean flavor that is inimitable. And if you want to test the authenticity, pour a tiny bit in the jar lid and light it... should be a pure blue flame, anything else is bs.
I expect to see some at ML Con2!
This is likely still illegal in some parts of the country, ha ha.
Everything not taxable is illegal in NY.
ftfy
Pretty close. Some things that are illegal may become legal/taxable. Anything taxable will remain as such.

The big question for me is do you have to install an operating system and/or use an operating system license?
That's useful but, often the answer is yes or no in nearly all cases. I can't think of any uniformity there.
If it comes as an appliance by the terms I described, no you would never have to install or license an OS.

RE: Recipe: Smoked Eggs
The only thing I would fix is the ratio issue. 12 eggs and only 5 slices of bacon?

Why do WiFi phones instead of DECT phones?
Umm, because I said the office is 100% wireless?
How the hell would I connect a desk phone with DECT?
The assumption is that you have Wireless Access Points. If you have those, then you have a switch. If you're lucky, there is an open port for the DECT and you can plug the DECT into that port. It might require you to run a new cable to the area you want to support the DECT.
Show me a DECT desk phone. I have never seen one.
Just wireless handsets, AFAIK.

I'll take the unlimited budget, please. Someone said it makes it too easy. I like easy. Almost feels like cheating? Perfect, I'll take all of that, too. Unlimited money, so that I can set my job up well enough to practically do itself... challenge accepted!!
So you can farm out your job?
If I can still get paid for it? Why not??

That's actually a baseline guess. I had much bacon, then ate some while prepping this, so you're right. Moar bacon. Maybe just cut each bacon slice into quarters, then add said slab on top of the egg, then cheese it, etc.
And don't forget the extra to be eaten during the preparation stage! So then we're at what, 15-20 slices?

If cost isn't a factor our jobs can literally be picking up a phone and saying yes to everything. Why not?
Or, its broke, I called a tech and get back to browsing the net.
I was actually thinking more about automation than a person, but whatever fits. If I can get paid to do nothing, I'm all over that!

Infinite funding, infinite work force. Let's end world hunger.
Infinite work force doesn't mean there is enough space to grow that much food. Even if there was staff to work that much farm space.
Sadly, the truth is that there is already way more than enough food to feed the world with no trouble at all. It's government corruption and greed that perpetuate hunger, not remotely anything to do with a lack of food.
I'd say more general corruption and greed. Government just shows it more because who's going to call them to account?
I noted governments specifically because they hold much of the power. Of course even a governing body is still made up of people, so yeah, it's all greedy people, all the way.

I said "still not very good" to which you appear to have responded "but it's country."
I was responding to the fact that it was country period, i.e. I don't listen, at all.
This all went off the rails back when the words "country" and "music" were uttered. Toss that crap out and talk about something else. When the best defense for a country artist's renderings is "not that bad", you really should have jumped ship a long time ago.

FreePBX extension oddity
I have a single phone extension (FreePBX) that rings 2x on any incoming call, internal or external, and then goes to VM. I've compared extension settings, follow me settings, DID settings, phone config settings, against working extensions. Nothing is showing up. I checked the Asterisk CLI for DND somehow being on for that extension. Nada. We set the extension up to ring to one of our in-house phones, and it worked fine. We had the physical phone for that extension replaced (was an Aastra, now a brand new Yealink), still having the same result. Has anyone seen the likes of this before? Any ideas?
Thanks!! -

Weekend plans were to go to the local HamFest to see what I could come up with. I need some coax and other misc parts. However that was changed as I'll be solo for a football game and other normal tasks while my wife is off doing CE ... sigh what is point in planning something six months out if someone goes and changes it 3 weeks prior....
I'm thinking pork products and you're looking for coax and other odds and ends? What a dork... oh, wait. Ham radio.
