Or better yet, get a 2012 R2 license with upgrade rights and upgrade to 2016 when it releases (obviously you need to do something in the short term though)

Or, if you are really on 2008 R2, consider this a blessing, and get a Linux VM spun up ASAP and move to Linux for your AD. If you haven't been keeping your Windows up to date, you probably don't have the money to be on Windows. Fix two birds with one stone. Kill birds? I messed that up. Anyway, you get what I mean.

Check Frontier, I think they bought FiOS from Verizon in Florida. They should have FTTH 50/50 Mbit at least, Verizon goes up to 500/500, I don't know if Frontier has the same speed available.

I have Frontier FiOS now in Dallas, what little I've used it, it's good.

What is it servicing? One of your colos?

DId NextCloud build for Nginx? I've not looked yet. The ownCloud code base was specifically Apache, I thought?

@alex.olynyk I think there are better ways to do backups then just hypervisor.

No, there is no better way than a hypervisor level backup for a full system backup.

Proper backups can be done like this:
      https://docs.nextcloud.com/server/9/admin_manual/maintenance/backup.html

If you need some component level backup, then a backup designed for that component is most definitely a good idea.

By the way. You should consider to switch to Nextcloud because it has some additional important security features. A backup like that can be done with a cronjob. Super easy.

Nextcloud is certainly not something I would deploy full force anywhere yet. It is getting close.

Syntax error is because you didn't give it any prameters.

They should have told you what to put in, but just in case, the commands should be:

      smb client port445
      smb client auth.1

Sets to SMBv2 and forces authentication.

Its for excluding 3 users from a removable device policy. I blocked inheritance on the OU at the domain level which contains the users. I highlight the GPO which contains the policies. Select Delegation. Add the group that contains the 3 users. Select Advanced. Highlight the group. Allow Read. Deny apply group policy. Gpupdate /force on the laptop where the user is logged in. Not working. I cant format the USB drive. I cant delete stuff from the drive.

@JaredBusch Any possibility of you creating a guide? That would help me greatly.

      yum install certbot

Replace certbot in any scripts you've written using the previous tools.

When I Attempted this I followed these directions: https://certbot.eff.org/#centosrhel7-apache

Could not get it to work.

It's VERY touchy about having your http.conf file(s) all entered correctly. That was my issue the first time I tried to use it on a server at least.

I think you and I went over this together and I literally copy and pasted what you gave me, editing as needed for URL's etc. It still didn't work for me. Idk

See what I mean about it being very touchy? I don't even know enough about the httpd .conf files to but muddle through apparently.

I looked up a bunch of different guides. Went through it over and over and over again. Never got it working unfortunately. I never figured out what I was doing wrong unfortunately.

Yeah, the error messages you get from Let's Encrypt are about worthless. Apache was happy with the conf files, why is certbot throwing errors?

I'm really not sure. That is why I wanted to see what @JaredBusch runs into. If it's just me not knowing some key element of it or if it's the actual product.

i have different URL's for owncloud inside the network and owncloud outside the network but that should be ok.

It is? What if they want to share a file?

Well, that is a problem, probably.

Is there a reason you don't them the same inside and outside?

With DNS you can do this easily.

      @Dashrender TO the computer

UNC to the admin shares should have still worked, assuming you were logged into the computer you were coming from with a domain admin account (or an account that had local admin rights to the one you changed).

But if you were trying to do remote admin stuff.. then yah, you found the fix.
