They owner refuses to use Outlook,.. and mail is via Google for all staff... so there is that issue too.

How is this an issue? Heck, ask him to fully commit to Google - you could go all the way to Google Docs - or you could simply use Google Drive with the Google Drive add-in for Office.

Sure, Quickbooks can't work with that, but hopefully that is a smaller group to worry about.

@gjacobse The owner refuses to use anything Microsoft period. He uses office because QuickBooks requires it.

        How so?

Your are right Jason,.. Shares are dependent on the User - nothing to do with the computer.

Are they on Windows? Or are they using a Mac?

So they refuse to use anything Microsoft, except for their biggest product? Weird.. Anyway, I don't know if it's possible on a Mac, but can you mount the folders via ssh?

If you have to map a drive, then Group Policy is the way to go.

Edit: removed incorrect info. Source article had a very misleading title

You could also schedule a task to run your drive mapping script.

As with any system, you should always swing back around and re-visit issues.

With the help of the group here, and other resources i hope to go over the GPP and see what I can clean up and improve.
