Although some days, I wonder if it isn't easier to turn cirminal. Had $1500 disappear from my checking account over a period of 4 hours yesterday. Fortunately, I was at the bank about 30 mins after it started happening, lol.

@gjacobse My daughter, wife and myself all had fake Apple purchases within 2 months of each other. Fortunately, out bank stops this crap when they see it and we lost no money.

My brother (of all people) almost got hit (bad) by this... Got a Facebook message from an aunt asking if he'd pickup iTunes cards for the kids as gifts...
It wasn't until he talked to me that, and my explaining this Scam that it hit him. While he had bought the cards - he hadn't sent the images... so - don't know that he was out anything (or much).
He's been in IT for almost as long as I have....(tsk tsk tsk).

Ouch - I have heard that happening more and more.
Yeah. It's been going around, that's for sure. I'm proud of my local bank though. It's not a big powerhouse like BofA, but they already got the $$ back in my account and I walked out of there yesterday with a new card.

My Debit Card got stolen. Dollars to donuts I can pinpoint where it happened.
But my bit about being a criminal... I replied to @nadnerB on a post and forgot to hit the quote button.

one of the big reasons that I never use a debit card. While I do have a debit card I only use it as a credit card.

Ditto. But it still got stolen. I tried to use Google Pay and it was rejected, so I switched to credit card and used mine.
The local bank came up good for me though. I had the $$ back in my account a day later.
