I am playing with building my own ZeroTier controller node. Nothing exciting so far...

It's a VPN client thing a jig.. I wouldn't expect it to be that exciting... but useful, sure.

@Dashrender H aha ha. Yeah. I was reading a little more closely through the FAQs today and found out that they have a controller piece built in to the software as well (I thought it was hosted by them)... That is what I'm working on.

It's all REST / JSON whatever you want to call it. I've almost got it working, lol. Having some trouble getting it to do what I told it to do.

JSON is a text file. It's just a format of the text in the file (a text based sequence of JavaScript objects.) Much like an XML file except instead of XML format, the format is JSON. JSON, XML and YAML are general purpose data files that compete with each other.

              REST is an API format.

Looking at a machine who's HD or controller has finally died!

It's only been back to HP twice, already scheduled to go in a third time. but this time with a verifiable problem... They need to replace the Mobo and the HD... hope I get lucky this time.

@scottalanmiller In this case, it is the format of the POST data that is being sent via a PHP script to the REST API of the controller...

They have their own web interface that you can use if you use their controller... But I don't see one included with their clients (it may be there and I'm not seeing it, lol... )

So my iPhone went into a salt water lagoon today. It was in my pocket and I had no idea it was there nor that I was in so deep. So... yeah, it's dead. I sucked the water out pronto and have it in the rice now. But not much hope for it. So I'm phoneless for a while. I'm in Panama with no access to things like a TMobile or an Apple Store (they don't exist here.) So this is going to be quite a challenge.

                          Eating dinner now.

Spent the morning watching Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire with my 7yo. Then we went to the LEGO Discovery center for the afternoon.

Just took the family to dinner for Lebanese. We were able to walk there (important as we have no car.) Dinner was nice.

Finally got around to buying my daughter a full copy of Minecraft. She has had it on the iPad for a while. Now she can use it on a laptop.

That is a royal level of suck. I don't know the 'import' laws.. but could one be shipped to you from the states? Not a perfect solution,.. as I am unsure of the post time. Otherwise maybe UPS or Fedex as opposed to using the normal post system.

there is never a way to ship something from the US to another country when you 1) don't have months of time to deal with it and 2) don't have a permanent address with your name on it.

Those two things are always required for reliable delivery internationally.

Having dealt with getting things to and from Japan even WITH fixed addreses, I can wholeheartedly agree with @scottalanmiller on this..
Best thing to do would be to forward look and have something shipped and held at a facility.
