Looking for a new radio, as I managed to sell my main one yesterday. ... which was a bit of a surprise. Not sure I want to deal with an external tuner on the next one,.. but just means more up front...
It's between these:
FT-991A ALL-BAND, MULTIMODE PORTABLE TRANSCEIVER
or
FT-891 HF+50Mhz ALL MODE MOBILE TRANSCEIVER
I would need a tuner to go with the FT-891, whereas the FT-991A has it internal. It's been a long time (cir 2000) since I bought a new primary radio,... it's over due...
What kind of radios are those? CB?
I'd definitely go with the 991A if it's got the tuner built in.
GASP He said Ceee Bee... GAH
Hahaha - Amateur Radio or Ham Radio. Likely the route I'll go is the 991A, as as stated,... it has the internal tuner. And beats having to manually tune things as I had been.

@gjacobse 991A for me but then again I do weak signal VHF work. I'm saving up for an Icom 705 to be my next primary rig. Also check out the Icom 7300's many of our club members have them and absolutely love them even the non Icom gang.
I've thought about the IC-705 also... I've seen some reviews and such for it,.. and the 7300. Both are solid radios - Icom and Yeasu both are solid radios. I just have Yeasu for HF - so... but I may convert. I am looking that the Yeasu FTM-400DR for in the truck when I pull the Kenwood out.

Ham Radio, gotcha. Runs in the family, lol.
(My older sister in that pic, Grampa's Ham in the background. Built it himself. I think Pops still has it at the house).

I had to skip the coffee for a direct IV of Monster Ginseng... uhg.. there has been to much IT'ing already today.

I feel your pain. Started an hour early, came in to a 3 hour meeting, lunch at my desk, and still going. Been pouring various forms of caffeine on it all day today... not helping.

I just put long pants on for the first time since March (just a guess). After 2 days of rain, the wind came and pushed away the clouds and now it's friggin downright chilly! Well, 63F feels chilly after 90+ degree days for 5 months.

Oh, what a lovely morning! 53F when I walked outside, but you can't fool me, Georgia weather... I brought shorts to deal with the 25+ degree temperature change.

Even though it won't last, I'll take the this morning's breath of crisp air

IT department from a restaurant I support called in this morning - They are moving everything to their domain - YAY right?
no. It's horrible -
Anyway - we get all terms on the domain and I think everything is working.
except theres a terminal that wont load the POS - it's a known error so I run the fixes that I know - still nothing.
It's been 3 hours that I've been working on this.
Also - the guy at the site I'm working with says and I quote ;
"Im gonna call it a day, it's 3:50 and I get off in 10 minutes. So you can do what ever you want, but call me in the morning and we can try some more stuff."
after that I didn't hear from him again, while I'm still trying different fixes and talking it through with people I work with, right? But the domain is so locked out (good for security not for little guy me over here trying to fix a terminal) I can't do anything at all - they were providing credentials for me to do the things i want.So these guys just break shit and go home? Love it. then leave me stranded with no credentials - never told us ahead of time so I had to figure a bunch of shit out on the fly today and we're so backed up on calls, I'm still making them after hours - luckily im the on call guy.
Happy 4th monday of the week.

Hey, if his boss doesn't allow OT, and the restaurant isn't paying for after hours support - he should leave.

No I get that - but they do pay for after hours support through their maintenance contract.

Likely to the company and not the employee...

Good luck. Way to many times I've had to setup a local forwarding "server" to get that working since printer firmware updates never seem to update available SMTP settings.

Well, then that vendor owes you an explanation why someone else wasn't instantly put on the call.

Don't remind me - I am migrating to M365... and have to make this change on all of my MFPs
