Because rates are low as fuck, and as bad as the unemployment rate is, there are still more than 75% of Americans still working.

There are more things they can do that are less risky. Especially if they are driving a bubble.

Actually, no. We are getting better about sticking to a budget. I get paid once a month, and wifey gets paid twice a month. It's just depressing when there's $20 left in the bank with another week to go to her paycheck. We pay all the bills at the beginning of the month, so there's fewer surprises after her second check lands.
I loved getting paid monthly. I hate weekly pay.
I think the world may be about to end... I completely agree with you!

I have direct deposit so I'm mostly indifferent. When paid by paper check, yes, monthly is better.
