Getting ready for a new site walk through to discuss cabling for Point Of Sale .
Hey - your company, does it manage the firewalls for your clients - or only install the POS systems?
now we only install POS Systems. We go through a vendor to manage firewall (NCR handles all firewalls) or they manage their own.

This assumes the machine is built like that. I don't think that started happening until sometime after 2012, maybe 2011.
It started with the release of Windows 8, so 2012.

Do you recall - was this a simple BIOS extension, or was this UEFI only?

UEFI has nothing to do with it.

I just discovered that Netflix is going even further to destroy scientific literacy by giving Gwyneth Paltrow a show for her bullshit Goop website. I thought the Bill Nye show was bad enough - he would not engage in any actual, reasonable debate with any guests. Instead, he just bashed them as people to "disprove" their ideas. What a fuckbag. Way to usher society backwards, Netflix.

So are you boycotting Netflix based on their ideas or just Bill-Nye-The Engerring student-wannabe-Scienceguy?
-
@WrCombs I can't get rid of Netflix (don't have cable) but I probably will write them a sternly worded email. People are dumb enough already, no need for Netflix to help.

I agree, Bill Nye creates flat earthers. He can't explain science, he uses science as a weapon. I hated him even way back when. He never taught people to think, he might promote the right answers, but he does so in a way that doesn't teach people to reach the same conclusion, but to blindly follow. He's like a religious leader, not a scientist or educator.
-
@scottalanmiller he's also in bed with the current administration as well as climate change deniers and anti-women politicians. And he's a pompous douche.

No, but it might make me feel better. I imagine I won't be the only one to tell Netflix that they need to stick to entertainment and cut back on the pseudo-science misinformation.

Why do you need netflix since you don't have cable? there are tons of other options out there.
I think Netflix just came out with something I wanted to watch recently.. so I'm likely going to keep it another month or two.. but I will likely kill it after that - at least for a while.
oh wait - maybe not.. I just remember - I now get it basically for free because I'm with T-Mobile.

We were forced to watch Bill Nye in elementary and Middle school.
It was after High school i found out he wasn't actually a scientist, but an engineering student.
