What is a "Real server" to your boss? A physical installation? If so, setup Hyper-V and then build your installation on it. It's a real server, configured how it should be configured.

New GM of the branch, Yes.
My boss (in this respect) is the Department manager/Micro Manager -

Sure, but to say something isn't real would be comparable to saying that Trains don't exist because airplanes do exist.

My boss (in this respect) is the Department manager/Micro Managerso go over his head... Explain to him why your company is selling illegal setups by not selling Windows Server (assuming you even need it - which I'm assuming you actually do because likely that POS system you are selling is Windows only).

she wants to see what I can do. -

she wants to see what I can do.Then purchase 2019 and cals for it, if you want to downgrade (for whatever requirement) then you can do that. But setup Hyper-V on the hardware (assuming it has to look like Windows) with a GUI and then create a VM to run the site.

What? Again, Linux based OSes would never even come up - So I'm not sure why you brought them up. The environment that Wr works is is purely Windows - so the boss is only looking at Windows, therefore a 'real' server would only be a Windows Server OS... Talking about a Linux OS serves no benefit at all here.

That part is out of my hands- Cause this is what I was told to order..
Hence why i was frustrated yesterday with the company.. like every other day.
