Citrix XenApp
What VDI content is being delivered and why?
XenApp leans towards terminal services, rather than VDI.

It's a shame KVM isn't on this list.
https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX131239no, the shame is using Citrix
Where I am is my first experience in a Citrix XenApp environment — it will likely be my last
I did one a couple years ago and it was just silly. So much complexity, so little gain.

https://support.citrix.com/article/CTX131239Why would they want to list their truly open and free competition? Also not on that list is XCP-NG.
I agree it wouldn’t make business sense to list that. I was thinking RHEV would be on the list (yes, I know it’s KVM). But then again, I suppose that’s an unrealistic idea since, from what I’ve seen, Citrix touts it’s interoperability with Microsoft products.

I think they list their compatibility with MS products as a means of saying "Yes WINDOWS can run on Citrix Hypervisor"
P.S. Worst name for a Hypervisor ever.

Citrix really exists purely for Windows users. So loads of effort there, as XenApp and RDS are essentially the same product (in function, and under the hood.)
RHEV isn't there because RH isn't paying for certification. It is on the customer to do the certification, Citrix doesn't certify anything themselves.
There are KVM systems that are certified, but it has to be through a vendor, not KVM itself, by the nature of Citrix working only with vendors, not products.

Well, dagnabit, said I setup backups for a client instead of going to see the new Avengers tonight. Called the client who had cancelled on us. Now I still have to wait until tomorrow to go see the movie (well, don't have to, but I'm not staying up till 1AM on a work night.)

Why the USG instead of a regular router?

Waiting on ~800GB to upload... for my first full sync from the house to Wasabi. (Getting ready to ditch CrashPlan's online backup.

My second video just finished, so now it's time to sleep. I blabbed a little about MS Open Value agreements.

Overall, I've had a good experience. I've used it off and on, but often find myself getting distracted with other projects, which prevent me from finishing a course. I've kept my subscription because I'm currently grandfathered at a cheaper rate. I'm actively working on their RHCSA course now (and am staying focused on it so I can finish). Once I finish that and sit the exam, I'll see if I want to continue the subscription.
