I'm liking Hyper-V more and more. I just wish they'd make a tool (the third party ones are bad that I've tried) to remotely control it easily without using domain credentials.
amen to that..
This one will be in an all windows 8.1 domain environment, so not really hard to remotely manage.
That is, I will have remote access via ScreenConnect to any device on the network to be able to manage the Hyper-V instance.

Well, all I have to say is whatever.
If you'd just admit what is going on and accept the risks, people wouldn't push the point. But attempting to justify things that can't be justified is where the problem comes from. Did you screw someone by changing the router? No, not at all. Does it make any actual difference? No. Could you spend ten years in jail for it? Absolutely. Those are the facts. Trying to justify that what you did is legal in the US, especially in NY where there is no state-level intervention to a judge's personal opinion, is where you keep running into these problems.
Did your landlord sell you Verizon service? Yes. Can he do that legally? No. Does it make sense that Verizon charges each user like that? Well it was good enough for him to agree to it, so yes, it is. Why do you try to justify his actions? It's not like you've made a case, you've only restated several times that he's a thief just with a lot of words. Why not just accept that he's stealing and reselling something?
When you say "whatever", it sounds like you knew you were wrong and want to attempt to walk away without admitting you were wrong. You are attempting to avoid admitting the obvious.

I know you aren't doing it to be rude, but I think you aren't stopping to think about the "voice" that you use when typing. Everyone's writing style has a voice. You need to be as conscious of it as possible.
