Sounds ominous.

@coliver I'm not sure whether it would work or not. Our internal domain is a subdomain of the domain we own. Since it's domain validated, I'd have to put something (likely a TXT record) in our public DNS, as it wouldn't make sense to have an A record for a host no one can reach. The other part would be installing and (probably) configuring certbot to get the job done.
I have an A record that resolves to an internal ZeroTier up address. I have to change it to the WAN IP before I run the
certbot renew
command.I guess I could switch to DNS validation now. Back when I set this up DNS validation did not exist.

Sounds neat and all, but I need it to work so that I can be productive.

Spinning up a new VM to try out Salt Stack.
-
-
@scottalanmiller Salt will be my first experience with this sort of automation in the DevOps space. Plenty of automation before at previous employers, but nothing related purely to the OS/systems themselves. I'm excited to see what's possible. All your salt posts have convinced me to at least look at it.

Got my new Asus Chromebook ordered this morning. It's a tiny 11.6" under 2lbs portable unit with a 13 hour battery life. Quad core ARM, 4GB RAM, 16GB SSD. I'm quite excited to have something small and light with a good batter. Polar opposite of my current Linux workhorse laptop. This will be so useful at conferences. You should all be seeing me with it at MangoCon, VeeamOn and Spiceworld this year. Maybe VMWord, too, in Vegas, thinking about that.
