      Your reply is brutal :')

Needs to be, that post was ridiculous.

What does "running an enterprise database from USB drive" or "running a database off of FTP" even mean? I mean... WTF!!!

Don't you know Scott this is the new "industry standard" for running mulit $$$$$ companies on. Means if the server fails you can drive home and plug it into your home PC and continue running the company 😛

      Ah, they changed their question...

I meant several thousands to millions transactions per minute, with a full backup of a database performed at least once a day.

In addition, I apologize for inconveniences. This topic is not about database storage but about database backup storage.

So now they are looking at 3.6 million times as large of a database (thousands per day to millions per minute)... and backups, not storage. LOL. Not really related to the original question at all.

"Take my apologies" - I'm guessing she's not a Native English speaker either...sounds like she's used google translate...

But yeah, still none of the above lol...who backs-up to a USB drive for vital information?? o.O

Or FTP! Millions of transactions per minute and then.... we'll just hook up this external drive.

Yeah, that's what enterprises do. They have armies of people walking around plugging in external USB drives to their VM hosts and hope that they know where the VM is running right now.

I know that our big IBM DB2 AIX systems were all using USB drives for backup. Nothing else would do.

Yep, I watched the first few episodes. It is really good if a bit campy.

You know - I was going to disagree with the campy part, but after seeing episode 4 last night - OK it might be a bit campy... but I still like it. Only 5 more episodes in this season.

Nice find - I think I will have to copy you on this. Much easier than dealing with VPN, etc.

Nice, that is very high on the "to try" list. That would be incredibly handy for a lot of things. VDI, for example!!

Do tons of people really think that virtualize is visualize or is this just an autocorrect thing? That it only happens in certain groups of people and not, for example, here makes me think that it is not an autocorrect problem.
