The set up tutorial will need to be changed because they don't use logstash-forwarder any longer, it's now file beat.

Here's a full list of their products:

You can use Elasticsearch and Kibana without Logstash to track a lot of different types of information, but for logging you need all three.

Just started cloning the backup server off of my ProxMox server. It'll be moved to the new XenServer. Then I get to install XenServer instead of ProxMox, and get HALizard setup, woo!

Tried to sleep in this morning but my four year old wanted to wake us up so that she could play video games. We were winning until randomly the slats fell out of our bed.... so pretty awake after that.
-
Still working on my Win10 and Win7 VM's ready for FOG deployment
-
Upgraded the image embedding plugin this morning, nothing too exciting. But you'll need to refresh your browsers.

This post on fake MS Agents is pretty funny: http://community.spiceworks.com/topic/1398552-delaying-tactics

The summer weather seems to have disappeared. It's cold and raining. Not New York or Canada cold, just highly unusual.
-
Cold and rainy here, too. Although this morning it is bright sun. Still chilly, though, we have the heat on.
-
The snow has started her. They expect 4 inches by this evening.
-
We received about 3 maybe 4 inches of snow last night.... neighbors plowman woke me up at 3AM dropping his damn plow..
I about started taking pot-shots at his truck.......
I did not plow, not nearly enough snow for me to start the snow blower.
Jack-asses returned at 5:30AM as an additional wake up call..
-
I'm sure my neighbors were woken up by me scraping my drive before I went to work.
With a shovel
-
Cold this morning.... and I have to run out this morning I love working from home. Wish that meant I would be today.
-
Would love to work from home. Someday...

Aim for the block, fastest way to take down a wild pickup truck. Just beware, they will smoke and growl - ignore this and continue shooting.

Spent the weekend jumping through various hoops to get my new Raspberry Pi Zero working. First my desktop's internal SD card reader wouldn't turn on, then I had to go out and get a powered USB hub so I could plug in everything I needed for the initial OS setup... Overall you definitely have to spend significantly more than $5 to get "the $5 computer" to actually do stuff, but almost all of it is stuff you can reuse on your next Pi so whatever.
I also found out the hard way that our main TV is the only thing with an HDMI port where I live. It felt funny installing Raspbian using the main house TV, but once I got the OS + WiFi configured I got it running headless without too much trouble.
I'm still at the point where my mind is blown every time I look at it. I skipped the regular Pis so the next smallest computer I've owned is a laptop. Now I have a computer that's smaller than a business card. I posted a picture of it on Facebook and my Dad asked me if the Pi was "like... the chip?" that you put in a full computer.
Next steps - getting some wires so I can connect some GPIO components!
