About to head to the VFW. Karaoke night here. And then I'll be completely broke for 7 days...
From the VFW? The last time I went to one all the beers were like a nickel. It was awesome!
Never been to a VFW when it wasn't rented out for an event.
I'm there every week as a rule. It's my go-to for a Friday night, and it's crazy every week!

Besides the fact I'm good friends with multiple bartenders there, many of the members, have been invited to stay when everyone else (non-members) were asked to leave, I know the DJ who does karaoke on Friday nights, it's open to the public some nights. XD

Updating my Xenserver with the most current patches.
-
New Lonely Planet app coming, should be cool. I'm on the wait list.

So I reloaded my laptop. I have my home folder on a separate drive, so the whole process took just about as long as it takes for Fedora to install and me to type a line in /etc/fstab. Pretty much back to the way it was sans some programs. Took about 15 mins.

Gotta love Linux
-
@dominica is making her first ever attempt at homemade veggie burgers today.
-
Trying to get all of the pictures uploaded from my phone to clean it off. It's filled up a bit.

Video gaming with the wife. Kids are watching shows on Netflix.

Very smokey day today.
Massive bushfire a burning in the south west.I had a look at the satellite photos from the Bureau of Meterology and it's difficult to tell the difference between the smoke and the clouds coming in off the coast.

So we're supposed to take "tech tips" from someone who runs a server with 3 RAID 5's striped together in Windows with no backups? And apparently that server not only stores everything, but does their video encoding......

Yeah SW had a long thread about how clueless and non-technical this guy is, too.

Holy cow, I just read the whole thing. Ya I wasn't pointing so much at the RAID 50 as I was no backups. But I did see this and couldn't believe it.
I thought SSD's would eliminate the need for RAID. But I'm still on the fence about this.
What is going on over there?

Running a business off a home built server with consumer class SSD drives. Consumer class drives and no backups are the problems here. So sad from someone who really should know better.

Wow, missed that the first time through. Where did THAT idea come from?
