Trying to decide if I want to just pay the penalty and pay cash for services.

@JaredBusch We found it was totally worth just paying the penalty and paying out of pocket. Does your payroll company offer you HealthCare savings accounts (taking out Healthcare funds pre tax)?

I've been on an HSA for almost 6 years, I haven't had any major problems with it being healthy, young, non-smoking male.
My only complaint is the coverage levels. You have to spend your deductible (mine is like $3700) before you get any coverage. Which is only 80%.
So stay healthy while you're on an HSA. Otherwise it could become very expensive.

Our payroll is a local accounting firm that uses quickbooks with different databases for all their clients it seems.

We are doing that here today too!! Although we are REALLY close to qualifying for not needing it.

I cannot even fill out the damn site this year. It will not let me add the rest of the family members. Tried 3 browsers. Everytime I click add applicant nothing happens.
I have purchased my own insurance since 2009 via a broker. I will likely continue to do so. but the ACA has jacked my rates so much that it is not funny. Our monthly rate prior to ACA was $560. I am currently paying $930 (was $830 prior to moving to Chicago) for less coverage.
