Ubuntu switched to Unity, which is as bad as it gets. GNOME was WAY better!

No disagreement there. But that Unity is the worst and Gnome is better doesn't say much for Gnome. I still put it towards the bottom of any list of desktops. Especially with KDE taking back the lead in quality for the big, heavy desktops from it.

Cinnamon, MATE, KDE, LXDE and several others come way before Gnome for me.

Thankfully desktop environments are all a matter of preference. 😛

Hmm. I Don't know if you could join both a Linux file server to both a windows domain and Openldap. But I bet there is a way.

Is the bottom portion always the same length in lines? If so, the tail command will do it.

Id have to confirm but pretty sure. How do you tail 16 lines?

      Tail -16 /location/of/log.log

      That did it. Perfect! Thanks!

No amount of IT experience prepares you to be a developer. It's a different job, a different range of skills.

True that. You'll also run into many developers who can't do simple things like install software or configure IP settings on their computer, etc. Two very different fields.

The only thing some people don't like is the official mobile app is paid. There are alternatives. But in a company environment it might be better to pay for the server and have the mobile client be free.

I have the mobile app. I could swear that it was free. Maybe I paid for it though.

Yep, the OwnCloud app has always cost money from what I can tell. Not really a bad deal considering the functionality.

Yeah but it complicates the matter for business use, even on company owned devices. Even more so if it's BYOD. Paying for the server side would just make it simpler. Granted Seafile is free for both the server and all clients.

None of them I know started as an Linux Intern... Just an intern at the company then became really good at Linux and was given a full time job.

Then yes, I'd agree with that being the most common path that I see.
