SAMIT: Business Owner's Need to Stop Requiring Sales Skills from IT
-
Business doesn't require any other department to "sell them" on doing what is best for the business. We hire lawyers, accountants, engineers, human resource specialists, and other professionals to give us good advice that we don't know about. That we need someone to advise us means we inherently don't know enough to have made the decision without them. And yet, when we get that same advice from IT, there is a strong trend to distrust it and think that we can make an opposing decision and ignore IT unless IT manages to be an excellent sales person and convince us to do what is already determined to be in our own interest.
This is crazy and we need to rethink the political pressure put on IT to either give up or just become "yes men" because we default to self sabotage over believing in the advisors we hire.

@scottalanmiller I like the new intro.

You need a new video in this style that actually defines what IT is. I know you have old blog post about it but I do not think you have any modern video about it.

Movie looks good too. You have way too much head room though in your framing.
Just angle the camera down slightly so your eyes are above the center of the frame.
It'll look more professional that way. -
