What Are You Doing Right Now

@siringo My family and I use Slack. It doesnt push ads like facebook and doesnt have sharing of contacts like almost everything does. I control the channel and decide who gets in. I keep it to just family members I want. It can do anything, even video, and keeps on getting better. I have an RSS channel for reading various blogs I like. I'm sure other things do all this but this is what I use.
Something else I use is Zoom which is mainly video but has some chat enabled with it. I use it for work purposes because I dont like to mix personal and business on the same app.

It's not real time it's like the others, you send video messages back and forth, just like with the other chat features. I do it all the time.

It's video chat, not video calling. Just like SnapChat, it's simplex, not duplex, chat. Chat means "one way at a time" in communications circles.

Today's issue: I gave everyone in the company my personal email address. Now they email me there instead of the company email address. Can IT make them stop?

I was thinking something similar. Or some kind of rule that drops messages destined to that address.

getting my first cup of coffee for today .
Just got back from onsite where the terminal would not load.
Turns out it was a lot of different issues - Some config issues with the software - Was adding a XP box to a workgroup of windows 10 .After I fixed all of the aloha issues, Still wouldnt work--
Then I remembered windows 10 needed smb 1.0 enabled to communicate with xp (right? )
Turned on SMB 1.0 on the fileserver and presto chango term is up and running off of the fileserver. -
Doing a port from VoicePulse to Skyetel right now.

It's pretty fun. Are you doing it through a script? Or using an installer?

That feeling when it's the end of the fiscal year and the other department you set aside $10k for never did anything and now you have a departmental toy budget.... mmmm so good.
Sounds like a bad business setup.
More of an interdepartmental "whoopsies" in my favour. I'm ok with this.
