When I recently traveled to Portland, Oregon, we were talking about weather on the flight and the local Portlander woman on the plane by me told me that the weather of Oregon was like Scotland because they shared a lattitude. I was thinking... what, how can my geography by that far off.
So I just looked it up. If you look at Scotland, it is on the same latitude as Juneau, Alaska, nowhere near Portland let alone the rest of Oregon (Portland is on the norther border.)
If you check Portland, you'll find that it shares a latitude with Milan, Italy. The south side of Europe, not the northern extents like she imagined.
It is a full 10° south of Scotland. Just WTF.
Yeah, it's nowhere close whatsoever!
Oh and on two completely different oceans.
The northern Atlantic is nothing like the northern pacific.

I would say the weather, especially in the valley is more like france. There is a reason there are sooo many vineyards here.

It's directly in line with southern France, and about equally inland from the sea, so makes sense.

Usually really good with writing but I hit a road block. I have to create an origin story for my D&D 5e character who is a Goblin Wild Magic Sorcerer and I wanted to make his origin goblin-y. I always liked one punch man and how stupid his origin story is--for those who don't know, he basically did a normal workout routine and became the strongest hero in the world. Anyway, I am having a nasty case of writers block today and I need to get this back to my DM tonight. Hoping you guys may be able to help inspire me in some way @JaredBusch @coliver
