gig as in place of employment? If you're being forced to due something insane as join 2003 to your domain today is it worth staying there?
Sometimes you have to suffer the old gear being around because of decisions made by the check signers. I've been patient here, and we have officially begun the phasing out of all the old BS. We even have a couple of Hyper-V host boxes coming soon, so it has been worth the wait.
Yeah. I'm in a similar situation. I'm at least 4 ranks away from the check signers, and from what I've gathered, at least 3 ranks above me want to eradicate Server 2003 as well.

I don't know if that is a big issue, @JaredBusch might have more of an idea. If things change that much between their RC and live version you might be better off just building a new installation.
I've never installed a beta controller. But there have been breaking changes in firmware lately. Meaning once you upgrade to a certain firmware for some devices, you can never go back.
But that is not the controller. The controller is pretty stable IMO. What are you needing the beta version for?

@DustinB3403 @hobbit666 I scrolled father back. I see you were originally talking about the UNMS controller.
The UNMS controller is only out in beta. There is an Alpha group for it that is the more unstable branch.
Eventually it will become not beta, but for now, that is all it is.

I'm inspired to have tacos for dinner... and just found out one of my favorite regular restaurants has become a taqueria (same management, so it will be amazing).
