Some poor posted on SW posted something a little weird (but not all that bad) and got downvotes to oblivion for no reason. I said something about it that it should not be downvoted like that... and immediately a moderator popped in to nuke my defense of the OP!
Holy shit those mods hate the community. Like... they literally hate anyone not in the clique. Be helpful, get modded. Be honest, get modded. Point out a troll, get modded. Say something nice about a new poster, get modded.
If it is that way, then they are doing a bias regarding you....
Here it is... I was downvoted for saying "Why the heck was this downvoted 203 times?" Which was meant as moral support for the OP who was clearly not liked by the community. It's bad enough that I was downvoted for being kind and supportive. But then @DenisKelley posted something agreeing with me, and was not moderated for it. I asked why I was moderated for saying it, but not him for repeating it and immediately got a rant thrown at me about how I should only post "what the OP wants to hear" which makes no sense as that had absolutely nothing to do with the moderation.
So not only was I inappropriately moderated for being supportive. And not only was I moderated in a biased way where others saying the same thing got away with it. But then it was used as a way to derail the thread going into something that had nothing to do with anything.
You had a valid Why question?
Seems pretty valid. The OP asked a reasonable, if not awesome, question. There was no call for the downvoting at all. Maybe not much upvoting, but certainly not downvoting.
I'm not a fan of downvoting without some explanation.
I agree, I hate random and anonymous downvotes. Too easy to troll people or gang up on them. It makes it personal and completely useless. There is no value to downvoting.

PowerShell for Linux packages is now RC1. And also there is a Fedora package too. https://github.com/PowerShell/PowerShell
On Fedora, typing powershell to enter into PowerShell doesn't work, you have to type pwsh instead.

I've been wondering about how PowerShell is going to work on the different linux distributions. Will we have to load modules to do anything useful?

It'll work exactly like on Windows - it's a sell and it calls libraries or other commands to do things. Same as BASH.

While this is true, I can't tell you the last time I had to manually load a module into BASH in order to use the added functions, whereas PowerShell I always need to load a module of some sort before being able to do anything useful. I understand that they both do the same thing, it's just that one generally does it automatically and one generally makes me manually enter additional commands.

That's because Windows lacks commands to do useful things, Linux does not. BASH and PS don't vary in what they can do. They both access the same commands. Using PS on Linux, you do everything the same as with BASH.
Name a BASH action, PS will do it the same. Things like looping are part of the language and you have to know which you are on. Calling commands, like nslookup, don't vary at all as they are calling the same commands.
-
Anything you could load into PS is something that BASH could not do. But anything BASH can do, PS can do because it just calls the same set of commands as BASH.
-
And the ERL deployment has been postponed to tomorrow. Oh well. It'll happen sooner or later.

We've been mocking it for a long time. It's just beyond silly.

Just log out and walk away. Many others have done exactly that, and I'm guessing they are happier for it. Not sure why you still hang around there... "Shitshow" would be a compliment at this point. Let the sinking rats drown.
