Not too bad. I've got the text turned up a bit. I have a Moto X Pure, so the screen is pretty big.

I had read about Risk Legacy in the past and I was wondering how this Legacy concept affects replayability.

If the game world is permanently modified by sealed cards, what happens once they are all opened? DO you just replay from that point from then on?

I love the concept of bringing campaign style change over time to a board game, jsut curious how well it actually works.

Never spent more than 10 minutes looking into the concept though.

There is effectively no replayability in a sense. You play through the campaign, and then you're done. There are options for playing it more, but most of the draw for me is in the Legacy mechanics. This might sound offputting, but consider that a typical campaign is about 15 plays. If you get anywhere near that many out of a non Legacy $60-$80 game you're getting very good value for your money.

In addition, the Legacy mechanics, the world changing, evolving, is what these games are all about. It feels wrong to write on your cards, destroy them, put stickers on the board, etc., but then you see the whole of what is revealed and it is something very cool. I've played through Risk Legacy twice (two groups), Pandemic Legacy, and helped playtest Seafall. Legacy isn't for everyone, but it is a great mechanic in my opinion.

I've been meaning to pick up Pandemic Legacy. Just sounds like it could be a lot of fun. Pandemic is one of my favorite games even if it generally just boils down to one person telling everyone else what to do.

I can easily accept 15 plays for the cost.

I'm a bit ambivalent with Pandemic in general. I enjoy it, but it just isn't my kind of game. But I really like Pandemic Legacy. The way that the crisis kept growing and changing kept me engaged. There is a reason that it was at the top of BGG's list for so long.

Interesting - Haven't heard of the Legacy series of board games before. We had a group that used to play Risk 2210 every few weeks, it was a great game and took around 3 hours on average - unlike the original game which could last days.

The concept of evolving rules is cool.

I take it the game makers don't sell restart packs to allow you to replay the game with a new campaign? Perhaps the cost is to high, so it's worth just buying another whole game (from their perspective).

You'd need a new board along with all the cards. I don't know if it would be worth it. About the only thing that is reusable is the pieces. It would be more economical from a number of perspectives to just buy the game again. That being said, I'll never play Pandemic Legacy: Season 1 again. So much of what made it good was the unfolding story/evolving crisis. Knowing ahead of time... I might play it again when my kids are old enough to appreciate it.

As far as I know. It would be kind of silly not to given how successful Season 1 was.

Oh, you don't think they can be different in season 1 again? OK yeah, that kills replayability.

Interesting - Haven't heard of the Legacy series of board games before. We had a group that used to play Risk 2210 every few weeks, it was a great game and took around 3 hours on average - unlike the original game which could last days.

I thought the point was that each story can evolve different. Obviously within bounds, but still different.

Yes, and no. PL is much more railroaded than either RL or Seafall because there is a timeline that advances regardless whether you succeed or fail. There is some variability, but not sufficient to warrant another playthrough imo.
