Going to test our alarm system to see if it's tied into our phone system.

If you know where the alarm panel is, there should be a way to find that out if you have a analog phone with clips.. just patch in.

I think I'm going to see if I can get any good deals on a Chromebook next Friday. I've been using my wife's on and off and I kind of like it.

I love them. Cheap and work great.

I find myself just needing the internet and ssh a lot anymore. So they're perfect for that.

Yup, that's how I am too.

@gjacobse just attach speakers to your computer. I think it may be capable of playing mp3's, and you should be somewhere near your computer most of the day today. 🙂

Wrong kind of alarm system. We have a medical internal building call alarm system for when a patient is having problems and we need to call for help from around the building.

It was triggered yesterday on purpose... coincidentally the phone system in that building had the admin phones showing the system in night mode around the same time.

The boss asked if there was a tie in.

Turns out there is no tie in. Someone must have triggered night mode from one of those admin phones. Luckily it didn't really matter because no trunks flow through that system any more, just normal calls being transferred around.
I found the Mitel/Intertel code (9860) that toggles Day/Night mode and put the system back in Day mode.

                Problem solved.

I have speakers on my computer,.. both of them... and the laptops. No, the MP3 player has other uses... like when I am mowing the yard, or other things.

Uh - nope. Been going since 7am with the kids and chores. Now that they are gone, it's been work for the last hour...

Downloading Veeam Free to create one off backups of my VMs outside of my normal backup solution for a CYA before I upgrade my VMFS from 3 to 4...
I hope to have this done by EOD

Pouring rain here. It has been raining since I mentioned that thunderstorm last night. This is the most rain we've seen yet in this country.

Are you in El Nino territory there? Or has that not started yet?

Nice! Very close to the specs I plan on for my Steam Machine that hopefully I will see soon. What games are you planning to play on there? Are you in our Steam and GOG groups?

After figuring out that I had to use the old school domain\username for attaching to a Buffalo NAS as a target for Veeam Free, it's now backing up my VMs.

                                            Yeah.
