That messages means a lot of things but yeah Whitelist on their Spam Filter end, Adding your IP to your SPF record, check if there is anything on the body of the message triggering the block on their end (i.e. URL or site link).

It is Office 365 with Exchange - I have created all the records that Microsoft wanted me to.

So, just to be clear, this is 100% not on my end, correct?

This is recipient side. There is nothing for you to do. 500 Errors means that the issue is on their side. Ask him to whitelist you as a test. Should make it work.

    • 550 5.0.350 Remote server returned an error

I have one domain that we send to that is giving us kickbacks and returns this error:

550 5.0.350 Remote server returned an error -> 571 Delivery not authorized, message refused

I have looked at all my stuff and sent emails to other domains with no issues.

The tech at that location said it is on my end, and of course, I said it can't be because you're domain is the only one kicking back emails.

Any ideas? The research he did said I should change my domain in exchange to Internal Relay but that doesn't make sense as we aren't sharing a domain or in a hybrid state with that domain.

This is crazy, I am working on something similar.

This is almost exactly what I was looking for but want it to be able to share out a calendar from Microsoft Teams.

    • On Prem Exchange to O365

I have finally been able to convince the powers that be that O365 is the best option for us being a school.

**for the purposes of "corporate" do not read it that we are a subsidiary but just that our overall organization had created a subdomain 10 years ago or so for all four of the schools that are under the organization. Since then 2 of them have moved away from the subdomain and one got lucky as they moved to G Suite early on in the process.

Because we are a subdomain of our "corporate" and we have a domain of school.corporate.net and corporate is already on O365 we cannot be on O365 with our school.corporate.net domain. The powers that be want to keep our email/data separate from "corporate" so we got a new domain name.

My thought was to get the users created on the new O365 by using the AD sync, add the new domain name to our current exchange box, then upload emails to O365.

I just started doing the AD sync from AD to O365 but got the following message:

      alt text

Would I be correct that because our AD domain isn't anything close to our new domain name that this plan cannot happen? I am not sure if we'll be moving to Azure AD or not.

Would it make it easier to go full blown Azure AD?

We have a few Mac users who do a lot of Adobe work. I was testing MacOS Catalina and found it was a shithole of an OS. So buggy! I was able to download Mojave but really wanted to go back to High Sierra and couldn't. I really think High Sierra was the best one yet.

I thought I read it somewhere. Thanks.

What about backups? I thought I read somewhere that O365 doesn't do backups. So if an end user deletes an email or accidentally deletes/moves a folder there is no way to retrieve that.

That is an exchange thing, it is built in. That is no different in O365

Right now, we have Exchange 2016 and if the above happens I have to use our Veeam backup to retrieve those items lost/deleted. Are you saying that is still the same or are you saying that Exchange Online has this option built in?

Well I would say you are doing it wrong now.

Exchange has a built in recover deleted items functionality. You don’t lose that moving to O365.

Excellent. Not surprised I was doing it wrong 🙂

Makes the sell for moving to O365 that much easier.

I mean we're already sold but I don't have to tell the powers that be that we need another backup solution.

We are finally making the move to O365 but one thing I cannot find in the info is if they provide spam filtering or if I would still need it.

Can anyone that has O365 or has set it up confirm either way?

Hell no. It is not ready.

Also you can’t even download the thing yet. Well as of late last night, at least. Maybe they finally put the ISO up.

Curious if anyone has upgraded. I am about to purchase new hardware for our PBX server and was wondering if I should go to 15 or wait on the hardware/upgrade.

      Hardware.... for a PBX?

Yea, you know that thing that sits in the corner, some call it a PC, some call it a server.

      You aren't virtualizing it?

      Not with having PRI lines.

Bummer having PRI lines! Change change to SIP trunks?

@Dashrender said in FreePBX 15 released:

Actually you could virtualize it - you'd just have to covert your PRI to SIP.

When we last checked (Spring 2019) the cost to move from PRI to SIP was almost double what we pay now. I don't remember why I think it had to do with the long distance calls that we make to Hong Kong, Vietnam, and Africa.

Where are you based out of? I suppose it's possible that it's more, but I've never seen that be the case - are you on some sort of unlimited included international long distance plan?
What SIP vendor were you looking at when comparing pricing?

We are in Wisconsin . We get a package deal because we are graduate school with dorm rooms and 19 homes on campus. So TV, Internet, and our PRI are discounted but not necessarily bundled. We haven't ever looked at anyone but Time Warner/Spectrum for our PRI/SIP.
