I had a cheaper Relic skeleton watch until it failed on me a couple weeks ago. I upgraded to a Pebble classic and I have had it about a week. So far, so good. I like it, but I would have never spent more than the $75 bucks I did on a smart watch. I may do a little programming on it just to try out the SDK, but for now, I'm happy with being able to get GPS directions without looking at my phone and driving, having a bike computer, coffee timer, and seeing my phone notifications without digging my phone out and putting in my unlock code.

If you are an Outlook user, here is the Microsoft Hotfix for the issues between Outlook and El Capitan.

RE: How many hours per week do you work?
40, I work 40 hours and then have a hard cut off. I came from a company that used to push me 45-55 every week to get their money's worth. I am much happier overall now than I was before, and makes me more likely to pick up skills at home and learn again vs coming home drained and wanting to unplug from all tech.

RE: Apple Mac OSX El Capitan Has Released
FYI Outlook 2011 is not playing nice yet. Microsoft is working on a fix. Causes outlook to lock up when connecting to exchange several times an hour.

RE: Love hate relationship with Mac OS
My 2 cents. I use Alfred, which has searching for File Name, and file content. Also, I put everything in my Documents folder and just do my best to keep it well organized so I can find anything.

RE: Investing for retirement
The strategy my advisor has me using is start off in your 20's with medium to high risk but very diversified to build of a portfolio. Then as you age though your 30's and 40's slowly start moving that money over to Bonds when the market is at high points to lock down that investment so as you get closer to retirement your assets are primarily in low risk low return bonds. I pay her $50 a year though my bank. I wrote her an email with when I want to retire, what I want for my kids, and how I want to live and for how long. She forecasted my plan, made some adjustments and now we meet up every couple years to review the forecast and adjust as needed. Well worth the money.

I got too far out on the edge. I got the new Android TV Nexus Player. I love the interface and the device. However HBO Now and Amazon Prime isn't available on it yet, and Amazon may never be. Also, just had to RMA mine due to Audio sync issues. Once the bugs are worked out, it is great.
Considering your own quote listed above, do I assume correctly that the device won't allow you to side load your own apps onto it?
I haven't tried, but I have read online that you can do it. Haven't been that brave yet.
Aww, OK I was just trying to figure out how you couldn't get Amazon stuff on an Android considering their Fire based products are all Android, and they've released the Android install files on their website.
The Issue is the Nexus Defaults everything to Google Play, and Fire directs all searches to Prime.

How do you pull up Amazon prime on an Android phone? is there an app? or are you talking about in a browser on the phone?
or is this a lack of the Amazon or Google Play store being on the device?

Isn't there an Amazon Prime player for Android? or is that only for Amazon Fire stuff?
You can pull up Amazon Prime on a Android phone and cast it to the Android TV, but there isn't a specific Android TV App that you can install from the Play Store with out side loading and using a mouse.

RE: What do you use for personal backup?
Non-critical data goes on an external 1TB hard drive. Critical is on Google Drive, and my wife's photography is backed up to Amazon due to the unlimited storage with Prime.

@scottalanmiller One day I will win a debate with you, but today is not that day. I can't argue that that is not worse.

That was 40 years ago!!
Fair, but the fight to change clean water from a need to a right, claiming "Bottled water is the most environmentally responsible consumer product in the world.", and the pumping out and shipping off of public water supplies is still happening today. So I would argue not much has changed. I'm just saying it is worse than under educated employees selling me a consumer electronics.

It is a toss up between them marketing formula as better than breast milk in underdeveloped countries, and their buying up of ground water from public municipalities. I would rather put up with a dumb kid in a Blue shirt, than support a them. I would also throw Comcast, Tyson Chicken plants, and AT&T U-Verse in the ocean as well.
