    • RE: Robocopy for NetApp

You would not mention the IP of the source, only of the destination. Robocopy would be run from the source so that isn't connecting by way of the IP, it connects simply by the fact that it is where Robocopy is going to run.

Subway sandwich and broccoli cheddar soup.

Is broccoli cheddar soup something big over at your place? Someone noticed that before

It is a common soup for fast food places in America. Stays well on a burner all day.

Managed to use com0com and get it to work by looping it to COM5. Odd, but it was enough for it to discover it and ignore it. Thanks for the help!

    • RE: Quota to be provided for Folder in Ubuntu Server

Without making a different filesystem, I am not sure that you can have a quota at the folder level. You will have to have quotas for the entire filesystem. And there isn't a way to limit the folder, the storage used for the folder will impact the root filesystem.

Found an interesting tool called AutoSSH for Linux. Looks like it is available on Ubuntu and Fedora and not on CentOS or RHEL, which is pretty annoying. Looks pretty neat. Has anyone played with this?

Friday will officially be 1 week before our move. I cannot wait to reduce this commute time.

So ten days to go? good luck.

My commute goes from 1.5 hours one way (minimum) to 9 minutes.

That's awfully nice! Loads of time left over for studying!

How come my users never understand the simple things, like how to connect to the VPN. Launch the application, click connect, enter your password.

Probably because no one makes them. People rarely learn how to do things if they are not required to. Why bother if you can have someone else do it for you.

I support in many cases that it might be more efficient for some tasks, maybe not connecting to the VPN, be done by IT if they are not common or simple tasks.

    • RE: Server Virtualization Platform Choices

I think that KVM might be a little lighter. Although VirtualBox is tuned for use with local graphics and KVM is not. One would be used "as designed" and the other more or less "making do." Not sure that the KVM experience would be better, likely worse. So if you were virtualizing servers and wanted them to process as quickly as possible KVM might be the better answer. If you want a good desktop experience, I would think that VirtualBox would be the answer.
