Is it worth it to upgrade from ER3 (aka ERL) to 4. and how hard is it. Can I used the backup I have on the er3 lite and just upload into the 4?

I Understand now. so i wanted to build something that is like "SCALE" meaning the vm's with failover and I can spin up a vm fast. just to understand the technology.

I heard of KVM. Never played with it yet.

We got hit with crypto locker,

The dc handled file sharing and dhcp and it was the primary dc

We thought the secondary dc wAs fine,

However having to many problems with drives not working and users don’t have access to files and gpo not updating

I have 90 users in a dc that is not working correctly, users permissions are messed up, shared drive access not showing printers not printing etc.

Dc is being used for dhcp and file sharing.

How can I build a new dc and migrate al the computers to the new forest?

I have spent to much time trying to fix it. I think it will be faster to rebuild it?

So heres what happened, My brother in law called me , asked me do I know what this file means.. It has a weird extension he said. I said I would have to see it He sent me a picture of it shortly after, He works for a company as it support he is the only one there for 90+ users. The virus Randsomwear Took out his Primary ad controller, Which nothing was really working anyways, cause the sync of profiles go corrupted the shama could not be imported to the secondary controller, user account not syncing with ad and all the data was corrupt. data happened to be on a backup hard drive that was in a image format.

Anyways I didn't know the network at all nor knew what was going on. My brother in law was maintaining a bandaid fix

I had to restore AD that was corrupted. Move files share drives etc. over 80+ hours in. I dont want to scare them off either.

What is the average rate for emergency service. Windows Server work.

Hey FYI one of my clients got attacked September 17th at 9am. All their files were encrypted and renamed with the file extension crypted_miatellog@aol_com, including links were changed shortcuts registry was changed and shortcuts no longer worked. Just giving everyone out here a heads up. This one is not only encrypting files but taking the computer with it

So on my switch I am using a vlan 50 to connect all the public ips on my er -3 lite.

I have the wan on eth0- dhcp address 10.x.x.x on eth1 and eth2-public ip 104.x.x.193.

I was told from froniter that I have to create a default router within the router to forward over to the gateway ip address over to the lan side cause both wan/lan both us the same ip.

Now I am running VM's using linux. and I have no internet once I configure the static ip cause I cant pink to the gateway ip. i can ping to the public ip but cant ping to the gateway.

Correction I type too quick sometimes. I need to setup a default route . on port 2 on the er3 . to forward to the default gateway on the wan side.

So I was told by Frontier I need to add a default router on my first usable lan to my gateway ip on my wan side?

How do I do that.
