The data on the drive. The OS will decrypt it when it or an application needs access.

So powered off, yes. Or another OS, like a live boot from usb or CD.

Self Encrypted Drives seem to be the only way to go. We may be be stuck with going to their cloud platform....

We have a customer who is being told they have to ensure all their data is encrypted when at rest. They are being told by their franchisor.

The software product they use for running their business is the only app on the server and the software vendor will not allow access to the server OS.

I know the hard ball way to deal with this, but I am looking to know and consider all of our options.

Moving away from the current software vendor is a nearly insurmountable task.

The software is running on Red Hat. Not sure which version.

No. You install it on one computer and then remote (ie; RDP) into all of the others. I only pointed it out because it gives you access to the bios and pre-boot screens like tiny pilot, which can be handy.

I contacted the support staff at the host. I have to say, it never ceases to amaze me how good they are with this stuff.

They changed the NAT setting for the extension. I had no idea the setting was available because I have never setup a SIP device in VitalPBX before, only PJSIP. The NAT setting in question is not there for PJSIP.

I still don't know why it worked fine for a month and then suddenly stopped. I'll look in to that.

I have two locations with PA Systems. Identical setups. One of them just stopped passing audio.

Here's the setup at both locations.
Cloud Hosted VitalPBX (Same PBX services both locations.)
Comcast ISP with static IP Address
Sonicwall TZ 400
Fanvil PA2S SIP Gateway
PA System

Both locations have been working fine for more than a month (Since install date).
Suddenly one location stops passing audio.

No known changes to our equipment or software.

I've double checked all settings (comparing the non working site to the working site.) I've exported the setting from the working site and imported them into the non working site. And I've rebooted the cable mode and firewall.

No Joy.

Any ides?

VitalPBX has dropped their VitalPBX communicator product for webrtc.

I have a need for a windows based softphone that is not web browser based.

Anyone have one they love and can reccomend?

I just ran into this three days ago. User said he approved an update to Windows 11 and after reboot. It was bitlockered.

I wrote it off as the user just clicking through and not knowing what he clicked on.

True. If you recall the days of the MS Licensing portal for MS Office; if you bought any small quantity of Open license, like 5, 10, 15, 20, etc.... The portal always showed and allowed 50 activations for the same product key.

We had a similar problem quite some time ago, can't remember the why, but the solution was to restart the audiosrv service in the session. Desktop would hang. Sometimes you would have mouse, sometimes not.

We ended up setting it to delayed start, that worked most of the time, but not always.
