    • RE: What determines the interface that SIP RTP streams over ...

      @BraswellJay
Do you mean which physical interface in your router?
Not exactly sure what you mean by "new WAN interfaces"

The SIP traffic will use the interface assigned to the gateway address your are providing the phones, either static or DHCP.

No Audio is almost ALWAYS a NAT issue. Look at your NAT settings on the old interface and compare them to the new interface.

What make and model router are you using?

@CCWTech said in Unifi cloud controller going the way of home office?:

We are currently looking for alternatives to Unifi as they have shown they aren't interested in working with MSP's... But who?

We are searching too. They're so hard to get any information from..... And product we want has been out of stock for almost 3 years.

    • RE: Rack LCD Console with Digital KVM

@PhlipElder said in Rack LCD Console with Digital KVM:

Am I missing something? Is the title misleading?

They call it Digital because it is a digital signal between the Console and the SIP, and also because you can access it via a web interface or over TCPIP.

This unit only works with the SIP that has VGA. So it requires VGA at the server and the KVM only has an output of VGA.

If you were to use the Vertiv Avocent MergePoint Unity KVM, then you could get HDMI SIPs (P/N: MPUIQ-VMCHD) and have HDMI at the server, but you would still need a VGA display attached to the KVM Console.

      @ElecEng
We use this as the console:
IOGEAR GCL1800 17" LCD Console with an HDMI to vga adapter

      And this as the switch:
Tripplite 16-Port HDMI/USB KVM Switch with Audio/Video and USB Peripheral Sharing, 1U Rack-Mount
      Part Number: B024-HU16

We mount the console on the front of the cabinet, and the switch at the back; using the same 1U space. We use keyboard shortcuts to switch between servers. Occasionally (rarely) we have to go to the back and press a button on the switch.

    • RE: Windows 10 Workstation Cannot Be Accessed via RDP with Other User Error

We find that if we rename the PC, then allow more than a day to go by before restarting, this can happen.

Also, if we rename a PC, then the user allows the PC to go into Lock mode (screen saver timeout with login required to return) they will encounter this upon wake up/re-logon.

In the above two cases a reboot usually resolves it, when it doesn't, we go in as local admin and disjoin then rejoin the domain to resolve it.

Also, in the above two cases, we did not lose the computer in active directory, so after the disjoin/rejoin you'd want to remove the orphan computer from AD.

There's an article online somewhere about why you should NOT disjoin and rejoin the domain in this case, but we have always done it this way and have never experienced ill effects.

    • E-Fax with page-by-page verification

Just had a client call and say new regulations require page-by-page verification when sending a fax. Current MFP does not do this. Someone told them the fax service included in Nextiva will do it.

Is anyone familiar with this, and have any thoughts?

They have NOTHING now. And since the SIP provider has an interface already built for it, why not use it?

    • RE: Slack? What is it?

@Pete-S said in Slack? What is it?:

Because you said: "The sole purpose for looking at Slack for this customer is to send appointment reminder vis SMS using Skyetel's "Postcards for Slack" feature."
I just assumed those were the requirements and if there were other requirements that were relevant, you would have mentioned them.
Appointment reminders are very common, almost SOP in some businesses.

I appreciate your trying to help, but as I said in my query, my desire is to use Skyetel's "Postcards for Slack".

@Pete-S said in Slack? What is it?:

What @flaxking is trying to say is that you DON'T want Slack. Normally calendar reminders over SMS is something that is fully automatic once it's in operation.

How can you say that when you don't know what the requirements are?
